  • Hill Country First Timers

"We had a great time, we had a full house. My husband and our 4 kids, my sisters and one child each, this house was SUPER comfortable for a group of 10. We enjoyed that there were plenty of things for us to go and do within a reasonable distance. The house was located in an area that you thought was far off in the hills secluded, BUT we were really close to modern commodities/comfort. We will definitely be back this summer."

  • Pictures don't do justice to the view

"That's no criticism of the pictures--they just can't capture how panoramic the view is. We stayed in the Bella Vista (upstairs) unit, which was beautifully appointed and so comfortable. The units face east, so you can watch the spectacular sunrises from any room. (For the non-Texans who visit, that's also much better on searing summer days.) Although we didn't do any real cooking, the kitchen is fully equipped so you could if you wanted. Despite the quiet and remote feel of the property, Dripping Springs is less than 15 minutes away with several excellent restaurants. (Besides Rolling in Thyme and Dough, we liked Homespun and the Creek Road Cafe. El Rey has good Mexican breakfasts, too.) There's much to see in the area, but the property is so comfortable and pleasant, you may find yourself sightseeing a lot less and just enjoying the views and peacefulness at the Hilltop Villas a lot more. We'd love to come back again."

  • Nice house - Nice neighborhood

"I have rented many times from the VRBO website. I've had great luck overall and this house in Dripping Springs was no exception. I prefer to stay in houses verses hotels for many reasons. This one is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I walk every morning and it was great for that, hardly any traffic, and a simple street layout so I didn't get lost! The street sign (and actually the street) out on Hamilton Pool Road where you enter the neighborhood is VERY hard to slow down when your gps is telling you it's coming up. The house itself was comfortable. I liked all the labels on the light switches so I didn't need to try to remember which one was which, same with the kitchen cupboards. I am NOT tech saavy. Was unable to figure out how to turn the TV and DVD player on for the rest of our party (I could do without!) But, when my two twenty something sons showed up they had no problem getting the March madness games on. The back deck and yard are pleasant. Love the rocking chairs! Love the deer that stroll through. Can see the creek/pond below. Lots of birds and chirping. The deck was large enough for three of us to do our Tabata routine. We too had a little problem with enough hot water for everyone that wanted to shower before the wedding, but that can probably be avoided with some planning. We stayed at this house for a wedding that was at Camp Lucy. Takes about 25 minutes to drive there. Lunch at the Creek Road Café was great. HUGE hamburger! Delicious. Jester King brewery was fun, but the wait for the pizza is a little loooong. And the grounds are a bit rustic. In other words don't wear sandals. Twisted X Brewery was good beer for sure. The Italian place that's close (can't remember the name, Carmello's?) was decent, nothing to write home about, but low prices and good enough. We did not go in the little grocery store that is next door. We went to the HEB which is back in Bee Cave about 15 minutes back to Texas 71."
