  • Heaven on earth!!

"This is such a heavenly place to spend a long weekend!! It is hard to leave the beautiful waterfront. The entire backyard and most of the deck is shaded by the enormous Cypress trees that line the shoreline. Lots of places to be by yourself: upstairs on the house deck, downstairs on the patio, out on the boathouse deck, in the front yard, or just anywhere in the enormous house!! So relaxing, so peaceful. I enjoy going for a walk around the unhurried neighborhood, casting a line or lying in the hammock by the water. Bird watching, people watching, Water Skiing, kayaking and swimming are my favorite activities when I stay. No place like it on earth!! Thank you, Robert & Oxana, for making this place so special!! God bless"

  • Great Family Stay at the Timberwood Retreat!

"We had a fantastic stay at the Timberwood Retreat! Homey, spacious, great outdoor space, and nearby so many fun things! We had a great time celebrating my niece's 1st birthday. It was great to have the family all in one place! We would definitely recommend staying at this lovely home!"

  • Comfortable, relaxing

"Our group came down for a 3-night getaway during the week, and it was nearly perfect. Yes the cabin is old, has uneven floors and window AC units, but it is simple and ideal as we spent majority of our time outside. The water front yard is large and well-maintained, and the dogs loved having the open space to run. We really enjoyed the fire pit. I do recommend bringing floats, etc to lounge/play in the water -- it is shallow enough to stand too. Our biggest complaint was having only 2 trash bags available upon our arrival...we assumed there would be some...we left our box of trash bags for the next renters! Also, it wasn't a concern for us because we were preoccupied, but if you are really wanting/needing wifi, it seemed to have a very splotchy connection. Great memories were made here, and I would definitely recommend this property to other laid back, low maintenance renters!!"

  • Great for sports teams!

"We took our Track and Field team from Louisiana to stay at Ruby Ranch Lodge for our meets both at UT as well as Texas State in San Marcos. We were able to treat the trip as both a retreat for team bonding as well as compete! It was a beautiful space with lots and lots of room for the student-athletes to study, relax and get ready for competition. We fit comfortably with a group of 25 of us! Madelyn was an amazing hostess who was able to meet us late at night to give us a tour and show us around. That spoke volumes to us that she was able to come and do that. We felt right at home and will definitely be back to stay at the Lodge again when we compete in Austin and San Marcos next year. We recommend this Lodge to any athletic teams or youth groups that need a place to stay or a place to retreat to!"
