  • Much better than staying in HSB tower or Paseo Apts

"The Waters condos in general are a great option if you head to HSB. The advantage of renting privately (VRBO) is huge cost savings over booking through the resort. The disadvantage is you don't get access to the awesome yacht club pool which has a really nice pool and beach area. The Waters does have their own pool, which is nice (picture shown), but it is not lake side -- it's along the road. This specific condo worked great for our family. The Master bedroom is a nice size and comfortable. The 2nd bedroom has a full or queen bed and the room is smallish, but fine for kids. The couch pulls out, and the owner has provided an extra cushion that overlays the mattress to help make that a bit more comfortable. There is a nice balcony with a large outdoor dining table. This unit is on the lower level, so while you can see the water, it's not a full frontal water view - but we still enjoyed lots of outdoor time on the patio. Kitchen was great and clean - had everything we needed for cooking breakfast, reheating food, etc. If you have never been to HSB, I highly recommend you pack as if you are camping (food wise) because it is pretty remote. There is a local grocery store that is fine for eggs, milk -- but it closes at 7pm during the week and charges "convenience" pricing. Bring lots of your own food & drink and you will be much happier! The restaurants in the resort are fine, can be slow service, and not great options for "on the go" food. While we were there, the wifi was intermittent (cuts out every 2-3 minutes for a few seconds, then goes back on) - so not sure if that was the router or the service provider -- but there is great cell phone coverage in that area, so if you have a data plan, that may be faster/easier. Bring your own shower products (shampoo, shower soap) -- but otherwise condo was well stocked with sheets, towels, hand soap, paper towels, TP, etc..."

  • Lake in the winter

"Just enjoyed a family reunion in beautifully decorated condo. Lots of room and well equipped. Even in the winter, kayaking can be possible as well as fishing, wine tasting and relaxing."
