  • Great house, great weekend!

"We had a group of 6 together to enjoy the lake and the hill country...wouldn't have been able to do it without Tessie and her house! It was a great house overall, well furnished and stocked with anything we might have needed. The view off of the back porch is very nice, especially during the evenings. Tessie actually called us ahead of our reservation time to let us know that they A/C unit had a small issue, but that it was being repaired right away. We got to the house earlier than expected to see the A/C repair company loading up, and the house was already cooling down. Tessie was very proactive with the repair and we never missed a beat! This speaks volumes about the care she shows towards her guests. I would definitely stay here again, and will be planning my next hill country visit around a reservation in this house. Just an FYI to those looking to access the lake, the Lakeway Marina is only 0.7 miles (decent walking distance) from this property. Very convenient indeed."

  • girl's weekend!

"We rented both homes for our annual Girls Wine Weekend. Both homes were awesome and the property is beautiful! The houses provide updated features and plenty of sleeping space! We spent most of our time on the beautiful deck just enjoying the 'country'. We have done many wine tours with Dale and he is a joy to work with. We will always give him our business and recommend The Heart of Texas Ranch to anyone looking for a get away!"

  • Great family vacation for end of July!

"Plenty of space inside & out for 15 people ranging in age from 1 to 69 years. We used the main house and large guest house. Small guest house seemed to be too warm for sleeping. Beautiful property for sitting out with morning coffee overlooking the Pedernales River and in the evening after dinner with great sunsets. There is space for anyone if they needed alone time with 2 hammocks and a gazebo for our teens. Lots of activities also for young and old with volleyball, basket ball, tennis, playlet for young ones and pool. All equipment is available on site too! Pool is very deep for little ones, no place to stand around in the water but still refreshing and enjoyable. Lots of inside space for meals or gathering for games & conversation. Sometimes found that there were too many decorative items around the house that got in the way. Again everything you might need is available inside except your own meals. You can't find this anywhere else. Must wear shoes outside due to lots of small stickers on ground and ants.We would consider retuning to this property in there future. Felt like we were away from it all but still plenty of shopping or dining within 10 - 15 minutes away. Family went to Angel's Restaurant nearby and to Krause Springs near Spicewood on another day. Very easy to communicate with the owner before arrival."
