  • Excellent place to stay and camp with very gracious hostesses.

"I took my 4 year old son and dog here in mid February 2017. There is a more modern cottage, and then about 50 yards/5 minute walk down the road, there is a more rustic log cabin. We stayed in the cabin. The two are far enough apart and not right next to one another. The cabin has (both have) everything you need, from a kitchen, shower, living room, bedroom, oven, wood burning stove, gas heater, and an enclosed porch to sit and watch the lake without the bugs. The owner and her friend were there when I arrived and welcomed me very politely. They were extremely welcoming, polite, and friendly to everyone, including my son and even my dog. They even loaned me something for the week and it was so extraordinary that I was astonished at the kind gesture. (I won't be specific b/c I am not sure they want to set a precedent of doing this for everyone.) The place is beautiful. Pine forest. Lake. You can camp here without really "roughing it". We had a blast. The cabin has a large fire pit and we sat by a large fire every evening. The land is remote, large, and the cabin and lodge are both right on the lake. We had the place to ourselves and could sit by the fire, fish at the lake, and let the dog roam around undisturbed. Both the cabin and the cottage have a fishing dock for extra convenience when fishing. We listened to coyotes howl every night and roasted marshmallows and cooked over the fire. We fed the three ducks that come up to you asking for food, and my son loved it. We also paddled around the lake on one of the several small metal boats they had at the cabin and cottage. We built lifetime memories here and the hosts were amazing. It could not have been better, really. The only problem is that now I really want to buy some land with a cabin, and, at least a pond! This property has more acreage than you need to roam around on and explore, a relatively large lake to fish at, etc. As mentioned, the cabin is more rustic, but charming. It has everything you need, but the bathroom is rather small. I have no complaints AT ALL, but being a spoiled city guy I will probably stay in the cottage next time since its more modern, has a dishwasher, larger bathroom with shower/tub combo, etc. I highly recommend this place to everyone, from a couple to a group of guys wanting to go camping/fishing. Just take care of the place for all of us! The land belongs to the family and if someone mistreats it they may not rent it anymore. LOVED IT."

  • Very Charming Cottage

"Girls weekend in Jefferson and we found this perfect cottage. It is so cute, inside and out. It is close to everything, even walking distance to most. The owners are friendly and very accessible. We loved the house, the warm hospitality and the overall experience. We will definitely go back for another stay soon!"

  • Beautiful historical home in a warm small town. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

"This weekend excursion was our Christmas present to our family. The home is beautifully decorated. The kitchen was amazing. The master bedroom and bath were awesome. The house was very spacious and we'll suited for our family of 8. We loved Jefferson, went canoeing at Caddo Lake and dined next door to the home. We were welcomed the moment we got in. The history of the home was a nice touch. I would highly recommended this site."

  • Spacious and well-stocked with a caring touch!

"My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay this weekend. The house was decorated for Christmas, and we even had presents under the tree!! The screened-in porch provided a memorable 1st night, and a fire in the family room beside the Christmas tree was nice last night, when the temperature dropped 40 degrees! This is a great place and I plan to come back this summer and bring a bunch of friends. This place and the owers are top notch!"
