                        A hidden treasure

My wife and I have now taken two trips to the Cabana Guesthouse, and I can't say enough positive things about it. The house is cozy but surprisingly spacious for a 1 bed/1 bath, and always immaculately clean on arrival. The owners provide all kinds of sweet little details, from a cheese danish for breakfast to bottles of water and juice in the fridge to a cute little guide to local ghost stories. And of course, you can't beat the private pool and spa! Both are lovely and really make this place special. When we first arrived on what seemed like an ordinary residential street, we weren't sure what we were getting into, but it turns out the pool and house are actually very private, fenced off carefully within a much larger lot of land. As the listing says, we've often seen deer wandering around on the lot. If you want to, you can go the entire trip without seeing another soul - but if that's not your taste, Gonzales's cute downtown is only a couple minutes away. It's a perfect romantic and relaxing getaway for a couple, and I can imagine it'd also be great for a family with a young child. And pet friendly on top of all that! We'll definitely be back as long as we live in Texas, this is a wonderful vacation spot and I can't say enough for how much we've enjoyed it.

When you arrive at Laurel Ridge Inn, you do NOT feel like a visitor, but like a long lost friend, or relative, greeted warmly (but not effusively). Wrapped in the coziness of your arrival, you are escorted upstairs to your "home away" (truly!!) experience. Perhaps a home to which you are accustomed, or perhaps to home to which you aspire: Antique beds and exquisite accommodations. Barbara and her team treat you to a stay filled with attention to detail, and helpful information about the area. Whether you are visiting Gonzales for business or for pleasure, be sure to list Laurel Ridge at the top of your "must stay" destinations.
