  • As advertised

"Forgot to mention - very good WIFI and the owners allowed our dog to stay for free. Wanted to do 4.5 stars, so I did 2 reviews to average it out."

  • Great family weekend - I don't give 5's

"Birthday celebration for my husband and grandson. Christine called to see when we would be arriving and said we could come early if we wanted as the house was clean and ready to go. She asked me to contact her when we arrived to check on the state of the property. Everything looked clean and ready to go inside the house. After inspecting the grounds and trying to access the satellite with the TV I contacted Christine and she was right on it. Christine was very responsive in correcting the problem. The kids swan to their hearts' content and slept well at night. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels. The pool was perfect for us. There were plenty of places to sit outside and even with the Texas July heat there was enough shade and breeze to sit outside comfortably. The 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath was perfect for my crew. For the prospective traveler: If you like the old fashioned meat market / deli pick up some smoked sausage from Prause's in LaGrange. If you like Kolache, cinnamon rolls or pig in a blanket stop by Weikel's in LaGrange-I highly recommend their Poppyseed kolache. There are numerous shops to browse in LaGrange as well. IF you don't want to go that far and like antiques and collectibles there are plenty of shops that are open on the weekend going either direction on hwy 147. I would stay here again either with family or friends. I can see myself recommending it for a girl's weekend. You don't have to like the local stores (antiquing or junking) to like Bo Buff Bradley."

  • A Peaceful Retreat

"My husband and I were looking for a peaceful retreat combined with Canton Trade Days and fishing. We found it in Eustace, TX when we stayed at The Hickory. The cabin was perfect and was only 10 miles into Canton. It was well appointed and offered everything we could have asked for inside but the real beauty was outside as it sits on a 12 acre lake with a porch and beautiful patio area. The landscaping was so well done and I sat in the rocking chair soaking it all in while my husband fished on the bank of the lake. Thank you so much for your hospitality. You really do understand what a vacation home should be."
