  • Beautiful country retreat

"We enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and strolling around downtown LaGrange looking at all the treasures."

  • Small Town Comfort

"This is a delightful small cottage in the midst of the lush natural beauty east of Austin. Smithville is an old railroad town in the rolling hills, which eventually slope southward to the Coastal Plain and Houston. There is much history to enjoy in the area and lots of good food. The cottage is very simply laid out and furnished, with an emphasis on comfort. Cozy chairs that kept me from even wanting to move, a wonderful bed, and extras like fresh--and delicious--oatmeal cookies, cold drinks, and my favorite hand soap made me feel pampered even though I was in town for business. The bedroom has good storage for clothing and belongings and little conveniences like a handmade bench at the foot of the bed and good reading lights on either side. In the morning the rooms were filled with natural light. The weather was chilly, but I would have loved to sit on the front porch; this area is covered with wildflowers in the spring, and the porch would be a great viewing spot. Its ceiling fans would provide a pleasant breeze for sitting and sipping your cold drink. The owners live on the property and are friendly and eager to be of assistance. The location is easy to find and provides easy access to the highway for travelers. I am looking forward to returning soon and bringing my husband along."

  • Beautiful home. Photos don't do it justice. Perfect escape from the concrete jungle.

"Great location, 5mins from town and perfect for our family getaway. Husband was in his element fishing off the pier and my 17mos old loved just chilling in the hammock. Breakfasts overlooking the Colorado, walks everyday and evenings reading which we never have time to do. No TV was a welcome break!"

  • Fantastic experience!

"This was the second time I visited this cabin with a few friends and it was even better this time around. The owners are so caring and thoughtful and they make the experience even better. If you're looking for a weekend getaway I highly recommend this place."
