  • Perfect Port A weekend getaway!

"Eliza's close to the beach home is the ultimate quick getaway cottage in Port Aransas. We will definitely go back and hopefully for a longer stay! First off, we are big fans of anyplace that allows us to bring along our dog. Second, the place is ultra cozy. It's so relieving to know your going back to your very own cottage after a long day at the beach. Eliza provides menus to all the nearby cafes and restaurants, so deciding where to eat was never an issue. The balcony is lovely to start your morning with your coffee and dog at your feet, welcoming in the dawn. It's a quick jaunt to the beach from the house and every morning we walked over the boardwalk, down the beach to exercise our pup's legs. Thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable. Can't wait to return for a full week!"

  • Perfect Escape

"La Esmerelda exceeded our expectations! I just wanted to curl up on the screened porch and read a book on the rocking lounge. It was too warm to build a fire, but in cooler temps that would have been a must! The kitchen comes equipped with all the basic necessities plus more...the french press made my day! The beds were cozy, the bathroom had plush towels and a variety of toiletries. The book collection met the interests of my music loving husband and my outdoorsy, inquisitive 7 year old! We can't wait to stay again. We're already planning our next trip to Marathon and La Esmerelda."

  • Great condo, very nice owner

"Joe was very nice when we spoke on the phone before our rental. He was able to tell us about the condo unit, the neighborhood, and give suggestions for things to do and see in South Padre. The unit was very nice with a large balcony that looks right over the ocean. We loved sitting out there and watching the sunrise and sunset--although we were disappointed none of the windows opened to let the breeze in. The kitchen was nice and semi-stocked with needed utensils and dishes. There were NO condiments or spices (salt or pepper) though, so you will need to bring everything if you intend to cook. The bedrooms were clean and spacious, and it was nice to have 2 separate bathrooms. My major criticism of the whole experience is that the linens in the condo (probably provided by the management company) are terrible quality. The sheets are thin and flimsy, barely covering the mattress. The towels were small and scratchy, like sandpaper. A little attention on the linens in the unit could make the whole experience much more luxurious. Instead, it felt like a cheap motel's linens. The management company was very rigid in their service. For example, towel exchange is only from 9-11am on the first floor (meaning you have to walk your towels down there and trade them out), and if you arrive at 11:05, don't expect to get any fresh towels--they were so strict! Overall, Joe was very nice and his condo is pretty. I might consider staying again, but I would bring my own towels, possibly even sheets."

  • Beautiful home that you wont want to leave! Perfect for big groups

"We stayed here for a bachelorette party of 13 girls and it could not have been more perfect. First off, the home is beautiful, clean, well decorated, and spacious. There was plenty of room for everyone and their things, room for all of us to eat together in the dining room, and even enough bathrooms to accommodate all of us getting ready at the same time. The house comes stocked with all the essentials and more: shampoo/conditioner, paper towels, basic cooking needs, etc. The check in/out process was straightforward and hassle free, and everyone we dealt with was helpful and friendly. The house is only a 15 minute drive to downtown, but we still found some good restaurants close to home (Fonda San Miguel is a MUST for delicious Mexican food and beautiful interior). Activities nearby that our group would definitely recommend include: a boat cruise on the river, a visit to the Hope Outdoor Gallery with a stop at the Whole Foods Flagship before or after, and walking down South Congress with a quick detour over to the South Austin trailer park for lunch (Torchy's Tacos!). I cannot say enough good things about this home and will be looking for an excuse to go back to Austin with a group so I can stay here again."
