  • Great location and Comfortable House

"We had a great time. There were 4 adults and 3 children, though the house could certainly have accommodated more. The house was warm and cozy, very accessible to Burke Mountain, and very clean. The rooms were spacious and neat. It was a pleasure to deal with Luke and Cheryl. We will look forward to renting this house again next year!"

  • Great place!

"This is a beautiful place - very cozy and convenient to Burke. It has plenty of space, very clean, and newly remodeled bathrooms and accommodated our party of 3 families well! Tom was very responsive before and after our trip. We would definitely rent here again. My only suggestion would be to increase the salting on the driveway...we happened to be there in-between massive snow fall and then rain, so the driveway was a sheet of ice."

  • Great home-away-from home

"This house in the heart of East Burke provided my family with a terrific place to stay. Everything in the profile was accurate but there is no way Polly could describe the wow factor we felt when we stepped inside. It is beautifully restored and manages to remain cozy while being stunning. The open floor plan downstairs provides three different seating areas and a well-stocked kitchen. Even in September we made use of the fireplace, and good hard wood is provided. The washer and dryer in the upstairs bathroom was much appreciated for our week-long visit. We enjoyed afternoon walks to the general store and watched the cyclists head up the hill everyday. The newly opened coffee shop just two doors away has a great selection of breakfast muffins and they started serving sandwiches for lunch the week we were there. One can dine well for all three meals and walk to each place. Probably the best thing about the house was that the owners live nearby and are willing to answer questions or to respond if there is a need. Thank you Polly!"

  • Best spot for large group of mtbikers (or skiers)

"My group and I are been renting this house twice a year for over 5 years. As you can see on the pictures, it is not luxury style, but this house is just perfect for large groups who want to enjoy Burke and mountain biking. It is just one minute by bike from the village (no climb on our way back from our ride). The large deck and BBQ is awesome to chill and have a beer after the ride and cook food on the BBQ. The sofas and living room is huge and fit 18 people no problem. The kitchen is convenient as well as the gas cooktop on which to cook great sautés and biker breakfasts :) Another practiful room, the large locker room to store safely bikes and gears. Finally, the big and severals windows expose us to the daylight and nice surrondings. Nice and helpful management staff! Go for it if you're looking for bike n'fun with folks and/or large family."
