  • Great option for a group ski weekend

"This home worked great for our big group. It was so close to the mountain and tucked in a beautiful woody area. There was a lot of space (big family room, dining room, and downstairs ping pong room). Gary and his caretaker were both very accessible throughout the rental process. A few tips: Kitchen is a bit small (can’t have too many cooks in the kitchen!) and some people have to be comfortable using bunk beds (good to know going in!). Overall, we would definitely consider staying here again."

  • Clean, comfortable, quiet

"We (group of ~10, corporate retreat) had a fantastic overnight stay here! The property is beautiful and serene, and we were greeted with warmth and a pleasant tour before being left to our own devices. The Inn is usually a writer's retreat, and each bedroom is named for a literary figure, which everyone enjoyed. With a fire in the fireplace and 14 acres of snowy fields surrounding us, this was the perfect location for a team meeting. The next day, we were close enough to Sugarbush/MRG that everyone was able to have a leisurely cup of coffee before heading to the slopes for some skiing. Would eagerly come back again."

  • Sit back and relax, Louise and Art will take care of you.

"Quick drive to Sugarbush. Great place for family with 3-4 kids. Louis and Art are wonderful hosts, a real "home away from home". Let them pamper your whole family. The homemade meals are great (admit it, what could be better after a long day on the ski slopes), and the steam shower is rejuvantive. Louise and Art are great with kids - if you're nice, Art might just show them around his pottery room."

  • Great for groups and couples

"This place was perfect for our family of three couples. Each couple had their own bedroom. My husband and I had the basement bedroom - it felt very private because we had our own bathroom. There is a loft bedroom but we didn't use it. If you are considering using the bedroom, you have to climb up a steep ladder so just make sure whomever is using it is able bodied. :) The house is very cozy and it's in a very quiet high end neighborhood. It's close enough to Waterbury to be able to go to a local grocery story not even 5 minutes away if you forget anything. You could walk if you wanted to to Ben and Jerry's. Skiing at Stowe was about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed the living areas, especially the big dining room table for family dinners. We used the the hot tub and the hi tech entertainment system downstairs. The internet was great! The house was on the warm side for us so we were never cold. The folks at HGTV would say that the decor in the house is slightly "dated" but it didn't bother us. Our only word of caution is that the drive way can be quite icy in the winter. We rented a van and it did NOT have 4 wheel drive so we had some problems getting out. Fortunately for us we brought two cars. So make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get in and out in the winter. Bruce (the owner) is great to work with and we really felt like we were guests in his home rather than a cold sanitized hotel room, complete with his hand written notes. Thanks for a great vacation!"
