  • A lovely, dog friendly home near Virginia Tech

"My husband and I spent the weekend visiting our daughter, a senior at Virginia Tech. This lovely home was the perfect spot for us to spend precious family time. The house was very inviting, and we were able to bring our dog to visit. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to cook family meals. The bedding was comfortable, and the TV and internet all worked well. There is a fantastic walking trail behind the house with beautiful views of the mountains that our dog just loved! The location is perfect too, just a few minutes from Virginia Tech."

  • Gorgeous house and property

"We loved every part of our stay. The interior of the house was open and spacious and beautifully decorated. You can tell the family put a lot of heart into their home. It provided everything we needed and was perfect for family gathering. We felt very welcomed and at home. The back yard was very private with beautiful will rolling mist every morning and gorgeous views of the mountains and valley. This is a gem that you are in a lovely country setting but only minutes driving to town. We highly recommend this house."

  • Jay

"The Anglers Roost was beautiful! Our ideal of an fantastic trip. NO ONE!!! Except when you want! No traffic! just peace and quite. Cabin was clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything. Nice clean charcoal grill with a shelter. The porch swing over looking the creek is where I could spend every morning with my coffee. Even caught a few fish by myself in the creek. I suggest you take the guided float fishing trip on the new river. Had a blast!"

  • Beautiful Mountain Escape

"My family, ranging in age from 21-75, rented this gorgeous home over the Christmas holidays for 5 nights. We had enough room to spread out yet it was warm and cozy with three fireplaces and a super high lofted ceiling! Gordon owns this fantastic property that is very secluded, has a pond, a beautiful stream and plenty of hiking. When we arrived he had built us a huge bonfire down by the pond that was ready to strike and had decorated a 12+ foot Christmas tree with countless lights that twinkled in front of the 2 story wall of windows! We used Copper Hill as a base and spent time in Floyd listening to bluegrass, hiking the challenging Rock Castle Gorge Loop and shopping and dining in Roanoke. We shopped at the Fresh Market on our way in and cooked a turkey for Christmas dinner in the fully stocked kitchen. We ate at Gordon's kitchen table on the amazing hand carved benches that were true pieces of art. We spent the day after Christmas bargain shopping and ate at Montagno's in Roanoke. It was fabulous and had a humongous menu. We ate at Local Roots on our way out of town and enjoyed the farm to table fare there as well. In Floyd we ate at the Country Store and had an amazing homemade quiche and hot chocolate while watching the locals play banjo, fiddle and flat foot dance! My father enjoyed being able to relax in front of the tv and fireplace while we were out shopping and he also enjoyed the pool table downstairs in the amazing man cave. The hot tub was used every night as well. Sorry to report that we did not use the exercise room:( Gordon was very nice to work with and using the VRBO is the only way this family travels. I would definitely recommend the area and this home is absolutely perfect! If I weren't a Clemson girl I would stay here for every VT home game! GO TIGERS!!"
