  • Dream house

"Although it can certainly accommodate more, this home was perfect for the two of us. A wonderful getaway from the piedmont heat, we found there’s a cool breeze on deck almost any time, day or night. There's a charming garden with herbs out front....Inside is airy and comfortable with plenty of light. The kitchen is a joy to cook in. There is a lovely “sharing" attitude about the place and the owner. It was a complete delight, and I wish I was there right now!"

  • Beautiful Condo

"The property had everything we wanted. It is a beautiful place. Our two boys loved the basketball court and the whole family enjoyed fishing. A great mini vacation!!"

  • Great!

"We have stayed in many places with kids and grandkids over 20 years, and this was one of the few that we have returned to. The scenery isn't "high-country" spectacular, but the view from the house is so engrossing and relaxing that one is content to simply sit on the porch! The fact that it is part of a working farm with cattle and horses within sight and sound further adds to the charm. It is a private and completely quiet setting. And the house is immaculate, architecturally and structurally striking with all the amenities one could want. Since it is off the beaten path, bring what you will need for your stay, because the nearest food and gas is not nearby (thankfully) and you won't want to drive a half hour because you forgot ketchup! There is limited "entertainment" close by (again, - thankfully), but Hungry Mother State Park, and local museums are within an easy drive. Bottom line, this is a charming,. quiet, private retreat."

  • THE place to stay for a Pet Friendly Rental!

"From the two large hammocks in the large backyard to the two front porch swings, everything about this house says, "Slow down and Relax!" This rental is one of my favorites! We could have easily spent the entire time in the hammocks in the backyard under the trees with the cool mountain breezes! Inside, the house was very clean, well-supplied, and very comfortable! The open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen is the perfect size for a family, and the wood ceiling and decor is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. The 2 bedrooms are the perfect size with large closets! Our dog enjoyed the house and the large yard of new smells and areas to explore. This house has been a home to two generations of family (although it is not old), and it makes you feel at home and part of its friends and family the moment you walk inside, There are neighbors in the area but they are quiet and non intrusive. On one side of the property is a large, planted field, and one the other side is another planted area of trees and bushes separating you from the neighbor. We enjoyed how close you are to the Blue Ridge Parkway(less than 2 miles) and enjoyed our visit to the Blue Ridge Music Center (30min drive), Mount Airy, NC(Home of Andy Griffith and essentially, Mayberry in historic Mount Airy), Galax (within 30 minutes and has a Walmart Super store) and Fancy Gap (15 minutes away). Another fun trip was seeing the Peaceful Heart Alpaca Farm in Fancy Gap. Robin is a wonderful hostess and truly wants you to enjoy your visit. She met us at the house when we arrived and introduced us to her house, then checked on us after a storm to make sure that everything was okay. I felt as if we were friends by the time we left."
