  • A VIEW TO DIE FOR

"This cabin was the perfect family vacation spot my family needed. Upon arrival the cabin is very clean and packed with evey kitchen appliance you could ever think of. The owner even left items that they knew most people forget when they are grocery shopping. Every room was beautifully decorated with nice soft sheets and beautiful bedding. We all slept like babies at night and refreshed in the morning. Even the children's room with bunk beds had the most beautiful comforters and enough entertainment for the little ones where they wouldn't come of the room. I haven't seen lincoln logs since i was kid but the cabin was stocked with them for the young ones. The most spectacular part of this cabin is the views. We sat on the porch and watched the rain coming in from a distance before it even got to the cabin. It was just amazing. Every morning we would cook breakfast and sit on the porch and watch the humingbirds feed, eagles flying over, the most colorful butterflies and take in the fresh mountain air. At night you could see the lights from the city in the distance. I would definitely come back and would recommend for anyone. You will love it."

  • All the comforts of home and more!

"We were so fortunate to spend a long weekend in this beautifully spacious and comfortable mountain home. Being familiar with the Fancy Gap area, we were pleasantly surprised to find how close we were to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the areas we wished to visit and explore. It is important to know that the shortest route to the parkway is a gravel road with a steep and sharp curve. But once we had driven that part of the route the first time, we had no problems navigating back and forth to and from the parkway. We are avid bike riders and this location is only about a 30 minute drive from the New River Trail. And after a wonderful half day of biking, what a great treat to return to such a beautiful and comfy place to relax and unwind. We looked out the window one morning to see a number of wild turkeys grazing by the orchard next door. As we were uncertain of our arrival day due to closed and flooded roads from Hurricane Matthew, the owner even offered to change her plans for staying at the cabin later in the month so we would have an alternate choice of another weekend. But we were blessed to be able to arrive on schedule and absorb all the autumn beauty and tranquility of this special place. If you book this cabin you will have no regrets. We flatlanders will definitely return to get our little "moutain fix.""

  • Amazing view,.....but.....

"The good: The view was absolutely amazing and Lynette was a pleasure to work with. She was very accommodating and helpful. They put a lot of love into the landscaping and house. There is a spacious deck with plenty of seating to enjoy the view. There is a large kitchen table for family games. The cons: The house rental states up to 8 people but anything above 2 is an additional per person per night charge for cleaning and paper products. This is over and above the $61 service fee and $85 cleaning fee. This maybe customary but I have never had to pay a service fee or additional per person fee before which was a little surprising. Parking only accommodates 2 vehicles and it is a very narrow drive way with 4 cabins in close proximity and my group likes a little more privacy than this. I was excited that the master has its own tv until I realized the box is in the living room and both tvs play the same thing. We lived out of our suitcases as most of the dresser drawers and closets had stuff in them already. There were a lot of lights that were blown when we arrived and thankfully my tall son changed the ones we needed most for us. There was a slight bug issue as well as cobwebs in almost every room. My personal rating for this house is a 3 but my kids say the view trumps all the bad. We had a great time but all things considered I don't think I would stay here again."

  • Woodland Retreat

"Very relaxing setting and surprisingly clean and pest free for its location. My dog and I enjoyed exploring the trails and lounging in front of the remote-controlled fireplace. Would definitely recommend a stay here."
