  • Riverwalk Cabin!

"We had an excellent time at Riverwalk Cabin! It has immediate access to the Creeper Trail without getting into your car. Within a very short walk there is a café located on the Creeper Trail at the Alvarado Station. A nice park on the Holston River is across the street from the Alvarado Station. We ate breakfast at the café. It was healthy delicious food with excellent down home service. We did take the bike shuttle to Whitetop and rode from Whitetop down to Damascus. Had an excellent ride! The weather was just perfect. On another day we rode right from the cabin towards Abingdon a few miles. There is an awesome trestle on this route! We want to return and ride all the way to Abingdon. Had great BBQ in Abingdon! We all had a really great time! Thanks for allowing us to rent your cabin!"

  • Great Stay at Buffalo Mountain Getaway

"Though we didn't spend a whole lot of time at the cottage, while we were there it was cozy and comfy! With cold weather in full swing, we appreciated the well stocked Keurig Coffee station to warm us up! We enjoyed a wonderful evening of live bluegrass music at the Country Store in Floyd a short 20 minutes from the cottage. As well, we fetched a lovely Christmas tree at Nester's Tree Farm-a fresh cut, 8-footer for less than $30! Can't wait to come back in the spring and do some trout fishing!"

  • Beautiful Mountain Escape

"My family, ranging in age from 21-75, rented this gorgeous home over the Christmas holidays for 5 nights. We had enough room to spread out yet it was warm and cozy with three fireplaces and a super high lofted ceiling! Gordon owns this fantastic property that is very secluded, has a pond, a beautiful stream and plenty of hiking. When we arrived he had built us a huge bonfire down by the pond that was ready to strike and had decorated a 12+ foot Christmas tree with countless lights that twinkled in front of the 2 story wall of windows! We used Copper Hill as a base and spent time in Floyd listening to bluegrass, hiking the challenging Rock Castle Gorge Loop and shopping and dining in Roanoke. We shopped at the Fresh Market on our way in and cooked a turkey for Christmas dinner in the fully stocked kitchen. We ate at Gordon's kitchen table on the amazing hand carved benches that were true pieces of art. We spent the day after Christmas bargain shopping and ate at Montagno's in Roanoke. It was fabulous and had a humongous menu. We ate at Local Roots on our way out of town and enjoyed the farm to table fare there as well. In Floyd we ate at the Country Store and had an amazing homemade quiche and hot chocolate while watching the locals play banjo, fiddle and flat foot dance! My father enjoyed being able to relax in front of the tv and fireplace while we were out shopping and he also enjoyed the pool table downstairs in the amazing man cave. The hot tub was used every night as well. Sorry to report that we did not use the exercise room:( Gordon was very nice to work with and using the VRBO is the only way this family travels. I would definitely recommend the area and this home is absolutely perfect! If I weren't a Clemson girl I would stay here for every VT home game! GO TIGERS!!"
