  • This is a nice mountain home on a golf course

"The owner could not have been nicer or easier to deal with. She responded to my initial inquiry within minutes. I was able to book a weekend visit with a short notice of just a few days."

  • Relaxing weekend getaway

"High Lonesome Cabin came as advertised - a secluded cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains a short distance away from the Appalachian Trail and Crabtree Falls. The cabin was equipped for all seasons and has nice guitar themed decorations. There were 3 beds - 2 queen and 1 full. Linens were provided IF you washed, dried, and put them back where they are regularly stored. Our group chose to bring our own linens so we didn't have to worry about doing laundry while packing up. The kitchen is stocked with essentials and a few extras - glassware, plates, bowls, wine glasses, coffee mugs, a coffee pot, a pot, an electric griddle, cutting boards, spices, and condiments. I wish we brought a hand towel for the kitchen because we ended up using one of our shower towels to dry our hands and dishes. It took about an hour or so to cool the cabin down when I arrived. *It was quite hot for a weekend at the beginning of September. Directions on how to turn on the AC units and where the fan switches were located were details in the cabin's binder. Cleaning up at the end of our weekend was easy - all cleaning supplies were provided. During our stay, we enjoyed the porch rocking chairs and picnic table for star gazing and talking well into the night. Bug spray was necessary. We also watched a DVD, played board games, and cooked a couple of great meals at the cabin. On Saturday, we hiked Crabtree falls in the morning, enjoyed a few hours at Veritas winery, and ate dinner at Blue Mountain Brewery. We had a great weekend trip and highly recommend this cabin for small groups of friends, one or two couples, or families with up to 4 children (who can stay upstairs)."

  • Cozy Condo

"My husband and I went for a long weekend and had a great time. The condo was nice and cozy, perfect for two people. Within walking distance to Mountain Inn and restaurants. Owner was very quick to respond to questions and very accommodating. We enjoyed the views and touring Bold Rock Cidery as well as Blue Toad Cidery."
