  • Very nice, clean farmhouse. Well stocked.

"Gary's farmhouse is a class act. It is very clean, nicely appointed and he has gone the extra mile to make you settle right in. Nice towels, comfy beds, even some coffee! The hot tub is a GREAT touch -- my 10 year old daughter and I loved it. The house is well located (though definitely "in the country") with about 15 minutes to Luray Caverns (must see) and an hour to Culpeper over the mountains, which is a must-see little town with shops and restaurants galore (much nicer than Lurary IMO). Great spot and a great value."

  • What an amazing place!

"I was going to write a long drawn out review, but the review written by David M nailed it for me and my family to a 'T'. The lodge is just amazing, and it's very clear that the owners have put tremendous thought, effort and care (emphasize CARE) into successfully providing their tenants with a truly 'turn-key' vacation home that caters to such a broad spectrum of interests and people. Just amazing! One thing I can add that was important for our particular situation is that the driveway splits, and gives 'no-stairs' access to the lower, and middle floors. This made it so easy to unload, and load, and particularly easy for my elderly father. Our group consisted of 8 adults, and 6 children- ages 4-16. Not one complaint or grumble over a 4 day stretch from any of 14 people in one house. I think that says it all. We can't wait to go back! If you're looking for a place to stay with a large group- look no further. this is the place."

  • Amazing!

"I would highly recommend staying at this property. It is beautiful and relaxing. A great place to get away from noise pollution and to the charm of the country. The owner is very hospitable and charming like the farm. We have stayed here many years and will continue to go back for many years."

  • Wonderful, relaxing get-away

"The stay at the lodge was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable part of my recent vacation. It was a complete escape from the every day and provided peace, quite and a chance to slow down and enjoy time with family and be around a lot more nature than we get at home. The lodge itself is amazing! It is grand (an understatement), with all modern amenities, but also rustic, gracious and incredibly warm and inviting. Everything we could need was right there in the house or on the property. We didn't stay in the treehouse, but did check it out-- that alone would have been sufficient for a stay as it was a complete house. There was more than enough to do on site, but it wasn't hard to take a nearby excursion to the mountains. One of the most enjoyable aspects was the stunning view. What a treat to have an unobstructed view of the sun striking the Old Rag during the morning and to see the horses playing in the pasture below. Also comforting to have Penny (the caretaker) close by. We didn't see anyone during our stay, but happy to know that someone was nearby if need be, and she couldn't be nicer when we spoke! The house would be ideal for a large family, multiple family get-away, or family reunion. It was a privilege to stay there and hard to leave!"
