"Two families, a total of 6 of us, spent a week at Serenity. This house is all it's cracked up to be! Beautiful home with magnificent view of the lake. The dock/sundeck are phenomenal. All rooms are well furnished with comfy furniture/beds. Hot tub and gas grill are great. AC is more than adequate, in fact, we had to turn it down it got so cold. Linen service was available and saved us from packing bed linens and towels. The owner, Jay, is very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Overall, a 5 star experience and would do it again!"

  • Need a 10 star rating for this one!

"My family has been coming down to the lake for vacation for the past 8 years and have stayed in a different house every year. We all voted this as the best house we've stayed in. For starters, it was the cleanest by far. The layout is awesome...with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, plenty of privacy. The downstairs is terrific...pool table a big hit with the kids and adults:-) Deck is the best I've experienced...awesome views and a screened in porch option. Our favorite aspect was the dock, which was phenomenal. Kids LOVED the party deck and ability to jump into the deep cove. Felt very safe as the dock sits in a quiet cove...not a lot of boat traffic to worry about. Owners were terrific to work with. I appreciated that they checked in by phone the day we arrived to ensure everything was as expected. Location of the house is perfect...we prefer staying in this area (calmer water, less boat traffic)...but still close enough to marinas. Plus, the ice cream boat that comes by daily at 11 am...a fan favorite for the kiddies! Kids love Bridgewater marina...arcade, mini-golf, Moosies restaurant, etc. (close by boat or drive). Only thing I'd point out is that there are quite a few steps to dock. For the able-bodied...a nice workout to justify eating the nachos at Moosies...for the elderly or disabled, it would be tough to get up and down. A great week, everyone had a blast! We hope to be back next year if the owners will have us!"

  • Pop's was great!

"My family and I had the best vacation ever last week and we wish we had tried Smith Mountain Lake years ago. The Eastern shore is ok, but with the traffic, crowds, sand and unpredictable weather and water, lake life is so much more laid back. Even when it rained, sitting in the screen porch within the trees overlooking the lake and nature was just as fun as playing on the dock and water. Renting a boat for a couple of days was also a great way to see the area, fish and find more swimming holes, although with 500 miles of shoreline, it is going to take a few years to explore it all. The cabin was simple and felt great. The WiFi keep the kids happy and the kitchen and bedrooms worked out just fine."
