"Extremely clean maintained home inside and out. Felt relaxed the moment we arrived. The views were wonderful. We needed to find a pet friendly house and this was no disappointment. No signs of another pet being there..very spacious..not a long set of steps to docks like most lake homes have..great time catching fish..2 catfish and 1 stryper..Phil and Vicki were very helpful and more than happy to help you..WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK NEXT YEAR. will not even look around.. thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us"

  • Serenity at The Lake

"We enjoyed a beautiful Fall weekend at Pops Place at Smith Mountain Lake. The excellent communication leading up to our visit made check in and out very convenient. The house was very cozy, clean, and well kept. We found the kitchen to be very functional and well equipped for the cooking we chose to do. While the weather was not the best, but the large screened in porch allowed us to really enjoy the outside surroundings despite the rain, in fact we were able to leave the french doors to the house open and hear the rainfall. The lot had lots of trees that allowed us to enjoy the early fall colors from the comfort of the house and screened in porch. All in all, a great house for a weekend or week long get away, we will be back again!"

  • Good

"Able 2 Again is a very nice house to stay in on a family vacation. The positives of the house is the location on the lake is good, sitting in a nice cove to swim off the dock and ski right in front. The air conditioning was amazing and was never shut off. There was 4 rooms with two twin beds in the loft. Now for the negatives, the walk down to the dock was terrible, I DO NOT recommend this house if you have grandparents or nonathletic uncles coming on the trip. The steps were huge with rocks in between not boards. Another huge pain was there is nowhere to put your garbage so you had to drive around to find dumpsters to get rid of your trash and if you don't get rid of your trash you are charged $10 per bag. The dock could also use some more cleats to tie up boats, if all you have is one boat you are fine but we had two jet skis and two boats and had to use different ways to tie each up. But overall a fun weekend and could not complain at all because it is always a great time on this lake!"

  • Great value, very good accommodations!

"My wife and I had a great, week-long stay at this condo. The suite is ample for two but with a "cosy" bathroom. The owner is great and very responsive. We found this location to be convenient to various attractions, Booker Washington's Birthplace, movie theater, Kroger, mini golf, etc. Several locally owned restaurants we're really good -- check out Yelp. We made a visit to the pool almost every day. It was great NOT having cable and we watched several movies from the apartment's collection as well as the vast collection of recent films in the local library. It would be helpful to have a guide sheet to explain locations of the laundry and trash collection. The unit was "hotel clean" and the bathroom and kitchen were fine except that the floors and the living and bedroom areas could use a good spring cleaning in the corners. Bottom line -- great value and if returning to the area, we'll gladly stay here again."
