  • Great View. Spacious House. Great Hosts.

"Beautiful and spacious vacation rental house. Excellent spot on the lake. Close to Bridgewater Plaza by boat. Beautiful view from the back deck. Kathy and Spike were great to work with and answered all our questions. We will definitely stay at this location again if we go to Smith Mountain Lake in the future."

  • This will be your home away from home

"My family and I had the best time!!!! The house is like a home! The docks and the water are amazing!!! The game room down stairs kept us laughing and playing on the rainy day. The home and everything in it are so well maintained. The water is clear and cool and the docks make for so much fun if your jumping in the lake, working on your tan, floating on a raft, or fishing. Simply an amazing time!!!! Can't wait to come back."

  • Very Roomy, Private, Fun

"This was a very nice home to stay in. There were some glitches however, mostly with older, outdated and nearly unusable stove and refrigerator. The stove burners worked sporadically, I would be cooking and the burner would stop working in the middle or go so hot it would burn whatever it was I was cooking. So we ended up using the grill side burner and top to cook nearly everything. We ran out of propane near the end of the week and I texted the property manager that it was empty, but he responded that the owners did not supply propane so we exchanged the tank for them at the store that we had to drive to get to. Also, something was wrong with the seal on the door of the refrigerator. We ended up having to use a bungee cord to latch to the cabinet from the door to keep the door closed so our food would not go bad. Anything we were concerned about, we had to keep buying ice to keep in the coolers. We did not see the property manager at all. When we arrived at the property at 3:30, I called, left voice mail and texted him. Finally, the person retrieving linens from the previous week renter let us in and called him. He never showed up once to show us how to use the lifts, game room air conditioner or anything. That being said, this is a beautiful home and when the renovations are complete, it will be an amazing place to stay. I loved how easy it was to get to the dock and the water and scenery there was amazing. We were pulling a tube on the boat and pretty much just stayed in the cove. I like that it was so remote and private. The Doughertys home is very nice."

  • Very nice house, dock and wide water lake views.

"This is a nice house for up to 8 people. The multi-level dock is very good, with ample room to swim, fish, dock a boat/jet ski, or just sit and enjoy the view. Although the lot has a significant elevation change from house to water, it is manageable. The house is both comfortable and flexible. The only real drawback is the winding road to get to the property. I recommend that you take a close look at renting this house."
