  • Beautiful home close to everything

"This house is gorgeous. I wish we had been able to stay longer. It was right down the street from the park and walking trails, and within walking distance of Carytown. The downstairs is a little bit on the dark side, but upstairs is light and airy. Plus there is seating on the front porch and lovely seating in a very private backyard. Bedding is provided, but we had brought extra and found that we needed it, so you may want to pack a little bit extra. I would absolutely recommend to friends and family, and I would love to stay here again. Thanks for the great experience!"

  • Fabulous Experience!

"What a blessing to happen upon Ramsey's Retreat! When a last minute opportunity came up, we searched for a mountain home with a view, and found this gorgeous place. No ordinary vacation rental, this is a fantastically appointed home in a gorgeous location, with breathtaking views. A huge great room/kitchen/dining room has a warm and cozy gas fireplace, plenty of comfy seating, cathedral ceilings, and hardwood floors. Between the dining room, kitchen, and bar seating, you could eat in a different spot every night. A soaking bathtub, roomy shower and double sinks round out the master suite. There are 2 other bedrooms but we barely set foot in them, because we could barely tear ourselves away from the huge back deck, boat dock, and morning deer sightings. Be sure to set your clock early enough to watch the eerie fog blanket rising from the lake, as the sun crests over Smith Mountain. The pictures and words barely do this place justice. The Ramseys met us there, gave us a quick tour and shared a few local tidbits, then quickly vanished to leave us to our romantic weekend. We highly recommend Ramsey's Retreat for couples, families with or without kids, reunions with friends, or any combination of happy people you can think of! We will be back!"
