  • Treetop End of Summer Getaway

"Our family was looking for a long weekend getaway before the end of summer. We usually visit the beach or location involving "water", however we thought we would try something a bit off the beaten path. We really enjoyed the Eagle's Lookout. While grilling and sitting on the deck we felt as if we were "in a tree house", according to our 10 year old son! We were literally nested in the canopy with a beautiful view of the mountains. The house had every thing that we needed. It was well equipped. We brought our 2 doxi's with us and they loved being walked on the ski slope...chasing butterflies! If not for leashes, they would have taken off and lost on the mountain for sure after spotting many deer grazing about!!!! This would really be a hot spot for the avid snow skier as the slope is practically at the Eagle's Lookout front door...very cool! This house is very convenient to Devil's Knob Golf Course (where my husband and son played) and the Discovery Ridge Adventure Center where we zip-lined, bungee trampolined, and summer tubed down the slope!) We had a great visit. Kathryn Puritz (owner) was very pleasant and informative....easy to work with. :o) I was disappointed that we did not get to see any bears!!! Maybe next time! Location was excellent on Wintergreen Mountain. We would stay here again!"

  • Great log cabin

"We really enjoyed our stay! The house is very roomy with 3 finished levels, 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, open kitchen, living room, and dining room, 2 decks, plus a fabulous W double decker dock! Great location - 30 minutes to the dam, 30 minutes to the north, beautiful mid-sized cove. Highly recommend this home!"

  • Great cabin. Quiet surroundings and beautiful. we saw a few deer over the weekend.

"We got there late on Friday evening. It was dark and scary driving to the top of the mountain, but the owner had turned on the lights and the cabin was beautiful when we made it to the top."

  • Nice mountain home on trail network in Wintergreen Resort

"We spent a long weekend in the house with our grown children and grandchildren and a dog, and it was a nice play to stay while we explored the trail network and waterfalls in Wintergreen and hiked southern Shenadoah National Park. The bedrooms were fine for our group, the only comment ring that the master bedroom has a door but also opens into a loft so we needed to have quiet time in the living area so as not to disturb upstairs. The dining room has a nice big table that comfortably seats 8 or more. The kitchen is adequate with all the necessary appliances and dishes, etc, but could not fit too many people in there at once. The living area has a beautiful 2 story picture window that looks out over the wooded setting behind the house, and there is a nice deck and grill off the living area. There is a large mud room with dog bowls and also a dog crate, very dog friendly. Overall we liked the house and would recommend it."
