  • Lovely!

"My family and I completely enjoyed our stay. And true to the rental profile, all we needed to bring were clothes and food. We're anticipating visiting in the future. Kudos to the owner and her support!"

  • Chesabelle

"Aside from the well pump going mid-week, we had a wonderful stay. We were able to call property maintenance, and they came out immediately. You can't predict these things! We stopped down at the beach our first day there only to find that jellyfish had infested our beach. This is fairly common during the warmer summer months on the Chesapeake. Luckily, we had the currents on our side. By Tuesday, the jellyfish had moved elsewhere. We never saw any more the rest of the week. The water was good and warm. The kayaks were a nice bonus! We also managed to stop down to Point Lookout State Park during the week; the beach there is amazing! A must see. The house itself was great; it comes stocked with all the essentials. However, if you wish to watch movies, be sure to bring down your own DVD player. I was pleasantly surprised at how few bugs we encountered around the house too, considering how close we were to the lagoon across the street. The big yard was great for outdoor activities. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. We typically stay in Calvert County or venture further south to Virginia, but you won't be disappointed staying in St. Mary's County. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. Be prepared to travel for groceries! And definitely make your way down to the beach at night, the stars are incredible!"

  • Nice!

"My family, 4 adults and 1 child stayed for 1 week. The beach is right outside the door, it was wonderful! It was great to not have to bring linens and to have ready use of a washer & dryer. We caught enough crabs for a great meal! The swimming was limited due to the jellyfish but we had a couple days to boogie board and make some new friends. We did do a fishing charter with Captain Mike from Buzz's Marina, he was WONDERFUL!!! Bringing a 7 year old to such a secluded, quiet area was difficult, she was 'very bored' playing games and watching tv can become tiresome. So, bring a friend for them to play with."

  • Lovely Cottage. Had a Great Time.

"My family and I had a delightful long weekend at this cottage in August 2016. Tall Timbers, the community where the cottage is located, is a charming 1920s-era collection of vintage vacation houses on the north bank of the Potomac. We found the cottage, the community and the neighbors to be wonderful. The house is as shown in the listing photos, and is right on the water. The property was clean, and all amenities and utilities functioned fine. Communication with the owners was excellent. My kids loved messing about in the water on the large inflatable raft provided. We adults were happy with the short drive to St. Mary's City (15 mins.) and Point Lookout, which has a great dog beach (30 mins.). There are two restaurants very close by (less than 5 mins. by car), and another about 10 mins. away. We fully intend to come back and are happy to recommend this cottage to anyone."
