  • Relaxing and Quiet Retreat

"My family and I had a fabulous few days at this property. The home is situated on a beautiful piece of land with plenty of parking and all the supplies you could need or want. We brought a lot of stuff from our homes that we ended up not needing as so much was provided (kitchen supplies, toiletries, deck chairs, life vests, floats). It is really peaceful and quiet, my husband and I had planned to explore the area while down this way, but instead found ourselves just lounging and enjoying the space. There were 6 adults and 3 kids in our group and we had plenty of space to spread out. It could easily sleep 10 adults (1 per futon) and a bunch of kids between the foam mattresses and couches. The pier is nice with lifts for the boat and jet skis. I did have a hard time with the metal ladder, but my uncle is a carpenter and built a wooden one which we left there for future guests to enjoy :) Shark Island is a must see! We took the jet skis out there. If you are renting them or the boat, be ready to make gas runs. The house does have two 14 gallon tanks, which we ended up needing to fill twice since the skis were empty to start with. We did not use the boat as none of us had a boat license, but would look into doing that next time as it was a nice looking boat! My sisters and I hope to come back to this home sometime soon and relax for another few days or maybe a week next time! Thank you"

  • Monumental stay

"My family of 11 stayed here the week of Thanksgiving in preparation for my daughter's wedding. Rhonda and Bill were amazing hosts; very helpful and so knowledgable not only of the history of the home but of the surrounding area. The home was beautiful as well as clean, the grounds were spacious and the sunrises were spectacular. All of us were very comfortable with the accommodations and the home was big enough for me to host a dinner for our extended family. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat (and plan to do so)and highly recommend it."

  • Family Get Together on the Rappahannock River in Tappahannock.

"The house was perfect for 11 family members to meet, with a large dinning room and large porch on back of house over looking the Rappahannock River with the Wildlife Refuge just across the river providing us with American Bald Eagle's to view. The bedrooms were setup so family members had their own space and were not on top of each other. They had a number of rooms for inside sitting but we found our self's out on the back porch enjoying the view. The only negative would be the dock not being repaired so we could take our chairs out and sit on the dock, they did said they would be working on the dock that was damaged in a storm so might have to return next year and enjoy the dock."

  • Wonderful location and well maintained rental home

"It was a very pleasant stay at the property. The house is located very close to the waterfront and is very enjoyable. The views from the house itself are pretty great. The amenities provided in the house were very comfortable and the basic necessities were all abundantly stocked. We would highly recommend this property."
