  • "Thanksgiving on the Eastern Shore, truly thankful for this wonderful memory"

"The pictures and description don't do this justice. This wonderfully appointed house on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, met all of our expectations. The spacious rooms were comfortable with views of the water. There are several places to eat including the porch, dining room and kitchen. Totally clean including a washer and dryer. Onancock offers shopping, several art galleries and top notch restaurants. The bakeries are famous!!! Laura was very helpful in answering any questions within a timely period. We will use this again for a special vacation. We hated to leave!!!! Hope B. Saecker"

  • "I'm in Heaven at Snug Harbor Marina Resort"

"Loved Snug Harbor Marina Resort. So peaceful and the views are awesome! The owners, John and Basia are so kind and caring and they make sure you have everything you need to make your stay complete. The cottages are adorable with everything you need for a comfortable stay. They are spotless and very roomy. There is so much to do right at the resort that we never made it over to the beach. The fishing and crabbing was great and we had so much fun making new friends while sitting at the tiki bar on the dock. The boat tours were fantastic and we got to see beautiful wildlife and views. Capt. John is very knowledgeable about the history of the island and makes the trip worth taking. You can enjoy kayak tours to see the wildlife and most of the time, you can get very close to the ponies. Everything at Snug Harbor is just awesome. We love it and will always make that our vacation spot every year. Thank you John and Basia for always making our stay worth the ride."

  • Well-Kempt Condo in Great Location

"The owner of this condo provided all linens and even a full kit of toiletries for each bathroom, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was pristine and clean when we arrived and unpacking was easy with the elevator located right by the unit. The keypad lock was extremely convenient as we did not have to worry about keys as people in our party came and went to the beach, to the pool, to the store, antiquing, etc. and it was nice not having to go to a property company to check in. The complex was quiet and provided wonderful sunset views. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of downtown Chincoteague with all of its charming shops and restaurants to the north and the fairgrounds to the south. As an added plus, the new Jackspot Grill at the adjacent hotel has a fun outdoor bar area right on the water, although they have a limited menu. If/when you drive to the beach, taking the back streets is recommended to avoid the stoplights. There is a good assortment of children's books and board games. There was not much in the way of books or movies. Fortunately the weather was splendid the entire time we were visiting the island so this was not an issue for us, but if you are a bookworm, you should bring your own reading materials. The unit also has a closet which was well-stocked with beach chairs, an umbrella, and noodles for the pool. There were also plenty of towels. Of course, I can't fail to mention how thoughtful the owner was. She provided gift baskets both for us and for the kids which only sweetened--quite literally--our effortless arrival. The only downside for us was that the dining table only has four chairs of the correct height. The other chairs and stools were for the taller breakfast bar on the kitchen island, so unfortunately we could not all share the same table when we dined in. This was only a minor inconvenience however. As a more general note which is not a reflection on the condo at all, I would advise anyone visiting Chincoteague to bring plenty of bug spray and to check with the town regarding the mosquito spraying schedule when planning your stay as it can be quite buggy on the island, especially if there has been a lot of rain. All told, we had a lovely week and were thoroughly pleased with our accommodations. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would happily stay there again."
