  • Great place to stay! Quaint and relaxing.

"My husband, our 2 little Havanese pups and I had a great time at Pirate's Hideaway. We stayed for a week and had a wonderful relaxing break. The property owners have taken great care in decorating this place making sure the Pirate's theme is accented throughout the property and that their guests are well taken care of. The kitchen and dining spaces are beautiful and well appointed. There are hardwood floors throughout which are beautiful. The 2nd floor front balcony was a great place to have our morning coffee and protein shakes after a romp on the beach with our pups (pups are allowed on the beach before 9am and after 9pm). The owners even make sure that your pups are taken care of with multiple size dog bowls...and although our pups are on a special diet and couldn't use, the owners even offer dog food for your fur babies (don't see that often). We had the privilege of meeting one of the owners and chatting with him one nice afternoon. He was a sweet man and told us much about the area and the updates he and his wife have made and plan to make to the property. The town park is directly behind the house and we enjoyed extra walks with the pups there as well. Cape Charles is an up and coming charming town with a slowed pace. We had fun fishing for little fishes off the pier, walking shopping and eating in town, and taking walks on the beach. If there is outdoor seating your pups can eat with you (just beware of flies...yuk!) If you like wine, take a drive up to Chatham Vineyards...they have great wines, snacks and of course as for any winery great conversation. For a change of scenery one afternoon we took a short ride to Kiptopeke State Park with the pups to take them for a swim, collect shells and to watch folks catch crab (there are blue crab everywhere!). Food and service at The Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery Cape Charles was wonderful...we loved it so much we ate there twice. Coffee shop has great breakfast and lunch (fabulous chicken salad sandwich), Kelly's was great for a Guinness and snacks, DeadRise pizza was very good, and The Shanty had yummy food as well. This is a great little quiet town with the Pirate's Hideaway as a great little place to stay close to everything. We loved our time and hope to come back again soon."

  • What a blessing!!!!

"This beach house has it all, we couldn't have asked for more. It is spacious yet cozy with a certain southern charm. My family loves Cape Charles and have shared 12 years of vacationing here. We chose different homes each year until we found this home. We have booked this home for the last three years and have no plans on looking elsewhere. Our entire family loves this home. It is truly a blessing."

  • Relaxing beach get-away

"What an amazing beach get-away! Kenmar Cottage is a great home in an unbeatable location - easy few blocks walk to the beach and 1 block walk to restaurants / shopping. The cottage is well-appointed and comfortable. My dogs and I enjoyed lounging about on rainy days and playing at the beach on sunny days. Cape Charles is a true hidden gem and I hope it stays so! Mark was very responsive and helpful in booking the trip. Overall a great experience!"
