  • Beautiful, serene home...great for family vacation

"We stayed here over Thanksgiving for 5 nights (and lucked out with the most amazing weather we could've hoped for). We had 7 people--5 adults and 2 kids. We all loved the home. The kitchen (very important for Thanksgiving) was fantastic. It had everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving meal. It was also large and modern. The large dining table had more than enough seating for all of us. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The decks were awesome--spacious and with great views--we got up nearly every morning to watch the sunrise. The yard was nice and large and flat (although, it would have been nice if the lawn had been mowed...the kids wanted to play soccer but the grass was super long). The dock was spectacular and the view from the end of the dock (particularly in the mornings and evenings) was stunning. The house comes with crab traps and a canoe (be sure to ask for them to be made available prior to arriving). We asked that the canoe be available. However, one small complaint was that although the canoe was there for us to use, they left the oars locked in the garage (the property manager--who is super responsive--came and got them out for us) and there were no life vests. We couldn't take the kids out on the canoe because we didn't have life vests. Sort of a bummer. Lastly, it was an inconvenience that the house does not come with linens and towels (unless you want to pay $200 extra). We flew in from various parts of the country, and bringing sheet sets and towels was sort of annoying. For this type of rental property, I firmly believe linens and towels should be part of the rental. However, it obviously didn't stop us for booking this house, and I'm very glad it didn't. Overall, however, our stay here was amazing. One of the best trips we've taken together. We all enthusiastically agreed that we would absolutely return to Chincoteague and to this house again!"

  • Spacious, convenient, and great view

"We made a last minute plan to celebrate my dad's birthday. I'm so glad I inquired. The owner responded immediately, making the reservation quick and easy. We enjoyed the view from the condo, and especially a beautiful sunset from the marina dock. We rented linens, making for an easy weekend. The condo is right downtown, and easy walking distance from shops and restaurants. Of course, the local adventures were within very short drive away. We opted for the Wallops Island Flight Facility visitor center and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. There were a few minor items in need of repair at the condo, and the management company took the information straight away. We did not need anything repaired in order to function, so everything came off just fine. The condo was so spacious for our party of 6 (4 adults + 2 kids). We enjoyed a lovely visit together, and I would very much recommend staying here again."

  • Wonderful property

"We loved our stay here. It is so well equipped and was a great choice for a family. Super quiet neighborhood, and fantastic screened in porch, plenty of sleeping spaces, kitchen was well stocked, etc. Very happy with this rental!"

  • Experienced vacationer

"My husband & I have stayed at many vacation homes/cabins. For the price of this rental you get a lot, I feel this place has all we are looking for. We have come here since the summer of 2012 on several vacations. We like the seclusion and the bay access. We have stayed at vacation homes before that were walking distance from the Ocean (almost oceanside). One placed required a security deposit & ended up keeping a portion of ours because we had badly shedding dogs at the time & place required extra cleaning. The other place did not include bedding, towels or even 1 sheet of tp left from previous renters. And the second place was in Kill Devil & the grounds were over taken by killer spiked little cacti. We've stayed in cottages on a lake, one did not supply linens & was a highly handy man special repairs, this place also required the tenant clean before leaving, they did not employ a cleaning crew. The other was not all that clean & was very rustic. Beds were very uncomfortable, but you get what you pay for. I love having access to the lakes, but overall, did not feel I got my money's worth. Love to stay in hotels and have much higher expectations when we do, but we can't take our dogs with us and ends up being a lot more money. It does pain us to see how other vacationers have left the place. The cleaning crew only takes care of minimum things. I believe many tenants showed little respect to another's property and did not consider the following tenants. All in all the rental is a great value and many invaluable memories can be made here. So we will continue to vacation here as long as we are able."
