  • Small Cottage Near Beach

"This is a small cottage near the beach on the ocean side of the main road (Pacific Ave.). There are a number of good things about the house as well as some bad. But overall we enjoyed it and we'd probably stay here again. THE GOOD: Location - Close to public beach access in a quiet area of an otherwise overcrowded city at peak times. Being in the North End allows driving access into town via less crowded roads from Norfolk. Yard - Big private yard for the kids to run around in. Outdoor dining areas. Porch - Awesome screened porch for chilling, reading, sipping... A/C - Central Air worked well the whole time. Washer/Dryer - Nice for drying wet clothes or minimizing dirty laundry to do back home. Price - At least when we stayed the price was reasonable relative to other options. Decor - About as nice as it could be for a house this age and size. Outdoor Shower - For washing off all that sand. Manager - Kept in touch. THE BAD: Size - This is a very small house suitable for a short stay of a family of four or maybe a bit more. But much more would get very tight very fast. Age - The house was built in the 50's and it shows in a lot of ways. No updates likely done this millennium. Charming and rustic if you can see it that way. Otherwise just plain old, but mostly still serviceable. Kitchen - What's the opposite of modern? That's what this kitchen feels like. Though there is a nice dishwasher. Washer/Dryer stacked unit is also in kitchen. Bathroom - The single worst thing about this house is the one and only TINY TINY TINY bathroom. Extremely extremely small, and everyone has to use it. The layout in there is just terrible and there is literally about an 18 inch gap you have to squeeze through behind the shower to get to the toilet and original 1950's sink. Shower itself is so tiny adults could barely even use it. I cannot overstate how non-functional this bathroom is, and after a week, that becomes an issue. Nowhere near ADA compliant if accessibility is an issue for you. Cleaning Company - Whatever cleaning company they use is moderate at best. The place wasn't dirty, but it was abundantly clear that they have to move fast to turn the rental over each week and just skip a number of areas (under the beds, overflowing trash cans outside, etc.). You pay for this cleaning company via an add-on fee, so you'd hope they'd do a better job. It wasn't the worst I've seen by any stretch, but I'd find a new crew."

  • Perfect location and charming condo

"We just returned from our stay at No Worries, Be Happy condo in Virginia Beach. The condo was very clean, well decorated, spacious, and steps away from the ocean. We've stayed in other vacation rentals that weren't that great and this condo was definitely top notch for the cleanliness and decor. I like that there were drapes on the windows that could be closed, the furniture was comfortable, and there was plenty of room to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the shower had fantastic water pressure; a must have while at the beach. In addition to options for linens provided, there were beach chairs provided, and a grill for cookouts. Every need is thought of and it showed during our stay. The welcome email from the owner was very detailed about to bring for the stay, but if you forgot there were several stores very close by and chances our you didn't need it. The location is amazing for great restaurants and shops. We tried several of the recommendations that were posted on the fridge of places eat, one being a Triple D spot, and were not disappointed. The beach was wonderful! Not crowded, actually not even busy, which is great. We setup and just enjoyed the sun and calm waves for most of the weekend. While you can't see the ocean from the condo, the short walk more than made up for it. The street where the house is located is very quiet so no worries with kids crossing the street. The whole area was residential, rather than the big high-rise hotels, making it very family friendly. I would highly recommend staying at this condo while visiting either Norfolk or Virginia Beach as it's almost in the middle."

  • very nice owner

"Mr. Scribnet is really a very nice owner. We have a reservation for the labor day weekend this year. But on the day of our start out, we noticed that there is topical storm warning in Sandbridge area. So I called Mr. Scribnet and discussed the situation. He finally agreed with us that we can cancel the trip this time and keep our payment as credit for next vacation. This is very generous because he acutely took the loss in his hand and saved us money. We really appreciate his kindness. Another very important point is that he is very prompt in replying calls and inquires. He is also very considerate in helping customer to save money. He is a real gentleman. We sure will do more vacations with his property and strongly recommend his property to our friends and relatives."
