  • delightful place to stay

"Everything about this cottage is new and shiny and immaculately clean. Upscale and professionally decorated, Ellen has thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable. The space is very intimate but during nice weather, when you can be on the deck, it is plenty of space to accommodate a larger group. The beach is narrow but sandy and very quiet and plenty long for a nice walk. A perfect spot for a relaxing trip! The house is very comfortable and bright with a wonderful view."

  • Christmas vacation

"We gathered some family (young and old) and everyone enjoyed their stay. The staff was very courteous and handled any assistance we needed quickly. The facility had a nice workout room, activities and indoor pool. We enjoyed exploring the sites in the Historic Triangle. We brought our bicycles and enjoyed the new Capital Trail starting in Jamestown!"

  • Great place to stay!!

"What a beautiful piece of property along the James River. 6 of us stayed here quite comfortable over a long weekend. You could tell the home was much loved by the family as it felt so welcoming and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We used the fire pit on our first night enjoying the cool evening while sipping on some wine. The walk down to the private beach can get a little steep but is well worth the trip down. We collected shells and took lots of pictures. We used this house as a base for visiting Williamsburg and Yorktown. The ferry is about 20 minutes away and free!! I wish we had not visited after the time change as it was always too dark when we got back to the house to enjoy the outside. Also, I highly recommend you get there during the daylight hours as finding the dirt road to turn on to was a little difficult at night. Would love to go back when it's warmer and take advantage of the private beach. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend!!"
