  • What a find!

"We stayed here for a week in March while my daughter and I toured colleges. Having lived in the OT/Del Ray area for nearly 20 years, we know the lay of the land and what makes for a good rental. This townhome exceeded our expectations. The pictures don't do it justice. It's quite a bit larger than one might ascertain from VRBO. From the entryway on the bottom floor, one walks up the stairs to the flat, where there is a nice sized living room to the left, and to the right, a long hallway off of which sit the two bedrooms, the bathroom, and at the end, a kitchen and sun room with dinette. Four windows in the sunroom face the Potomac, offering a lovely view. When we arrived, there were fresh cut flowers in three rooms, banana bread on the kitchen counter, a bowl full of strawberries, pineapple and melon in the fridge and six bottles of Evian water in the fridge. The home has it's own parking driveway, which is important in a place like Old Town, where parking is at a premium. The home has an Old World charm with wood floors in some parts of the house and antique molding. It is tastefully furnished and the beds are really comfortable. Plenty of down comforters and pillows for the two girls who visited my daughter one night. There's a grocery store two blocks away and the home is within walking distance to King Street, Old Town's main artery with its many bistros and shops. The waterfront is two blocks away and there is a large park with a playground just one block away that has a lovely view of the river. Highly recommend this home for a vacation rental. We were thoroughly at home."

  • Beautiful home, quiet area close to everything.

"We had a wonderful stay. And although we did not get to meet Aleta and Clay, I feel like we got to know them through their memories in the home. Our stay had everything we needed. The gardens were beautiful, the sunroom was my favorite place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The home was close to shopping and convenient to downtown D.C. I can't say how much the house felt like home."

  • cozy and warm

"Emily and Ryan's home is quite warm, cozy and overall well maintained...the beds were so comfortable, which is the most important element We were able to use the kitchen easily for our needs and most amenities were available for our use. There were some snags during our stay, but the owners quickly responded and resolved those issues. They made our stay so welcoming that I would gladly return with my children. The only downside of this beautiful home is the neighborhood which appears to be dilapidated, rundown and made me immediately worry about our safety. Walking around at night is not recommended. However, we had zero problems."

  • It's a great haven close to DC!!

"It was great! Del Ray was a funky and cool area we had no idea existed. It was awesome to be able to visit DC and Old Town, Alexandria, but to have this haven to escape to at the end of the day. The restaurants were great and the kids could ripstick or scooter on the sidewalk in our downtime, instead of being stuck in a hotel. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We could have used 1 more bedroom or at least a little more bedroom space for our family of 5. With the blow up mattress in the second bedroom, there was really no room to move in there, but we were really just there to sleep and then to move onto the next activity, so it was fine for us. We had a great stay. I would definitely recommend! Thanks!"
