  • FABULOUS!!!! WHAT A BLESSING!

"This was totally a God Thing for us. After booking another house and they canceled we just happened upon this one at the last minute. In town with our Awana Teenagers for a National Summit at McClean Bible Church and a home is so much better than a hotel for us when we are on a tight budget. The owners were so gracious and accommodating. If there were a better word than Blessing, I would use it but I just can't think of another one to describe what this trip meant to us. The home was incredible. We had plenty of room to put everyone and then some. Can't say enough about how beautiful it is and how nice the owners are. If we are ever back in DC again we will certainly be back! God Bless You."

  • Fabulous Family Hiking Holiday

"What a glorious home away from home! We wanted to stay in a couple of rooms inside Shenandoah National Park, and calculated that this home was only marginally more expensive but included 4 bedrooms/2baths, and had such comfortable beds and seating all over property inside and out. Enjoyed quiet, lazy morning reading under the shade of glorious tree and took a nap on most comfortable outdoor furniture ever. No bugs--or at least very few compared to Chicago mosquitos! Sauntered into town for superb iced soy blueberry latte at "Before and After" which also had fabulous mini quiches made from eggs laid day before. Bakery further along that road served best donut of my life! I don't normally eat donuts. These were special! Also from that bakery, a loaf of black bread that was heavenly; my daughter said it tasted like cake! (Spread with blueberry jam Owner of house kindly supplied.) Owner also so sweet and came to house helping us plan our special hiking and nature trips. A gem of a vacation spot--one of the best of my life. We have lived in England/Surrey, and this was the first time I ever saw an area that rivaled its beauty. Sunshine too! Can't say enough also about proximity to so many things historic and cultural, obviously the park, and also just the restful feeling of staying put and relaxing at the house, or going for a very challenging hike. Friendly folks at pub! Great pool tables, food, drinks, educated bunch of down to earth people. Fun and beautiful trip. GREAT beds!!!! GLORIOUS GARDENS!!!"

  • Simply wonderful

"We enjoyed a fantastic week long vacation on Steve and Andrea's beautiful property. The farmhouse was classy, cosy and clean. The property was beautifully maintained. Our 7-year old daughter loved playing with all the animals and the independence she was able to have roaming the grounds. Our daily swim in the lake was a highlight. Steve and Andrea were welcoming, delightful, thoughtful and helpful when we needed them, but not at all intrusive. Our dog is deeply depressed to be home in the city. Highly recommend this property for a getaway or a longer term vacation. There's plenty to do in the area to keep everyone happy."

  • Alexandria, VA

"The place is perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. The location is perfect for visiting Washington, DC or Old Alexandria. Only a 10 minute Uber ride to all local attractions. The rental was very clean and had all the necessary items for a weeks+ stay. The patio was great to sit and relax after a day in D.C. The grill is charcoal so bring the appropriate items to grill out if you plan on doing this. Other than that the place was fantastic!!!"
