  • Historic Creek Side Vacation Home in Blue Ridge Mountains - Front Royal, VA - 363466

"The Gooney Lodge was a wonderful and peaceful location in the Virginia Mountains. The house is just perfect with a large front porch and the Gooney Creek running in front of it makes it very relaxing from the moment you see it and sit in the rocking chair and experience the running creek! The rooms are very homey and many antiques to give you the feel of time standing still! Many cozy moments were experienced by all of us and very comfortable beds in the rooms. Lots of games and reading for all to enjoy....and the property is just beautiful and very peaceful! Loved it and would love to go back again very soon!!"

  • Hamilton Charm

"Our family was just looking for a nice house to spend a couple of nights with our son who is through hiking the Appalachian Trail. Windridge was more than perfect. Well equipped kitchen that enabled us to cook up some great meals. Fabulous porch where we ate our meals and listened to tunes looking out over the woods. Space to gather together and also space to spread out. Kaki - thanks for responding to our quick requests. Many thanks."

  • Nice clean cottage

"We enjoyed staying at this cottage while we were in Upperville for a family reunion. Everything seemed fresh and clean. The only thing lacking were sufficient pillows, but other than that, all the necessities were provided!"

  • Gorgeous, comfortable home, centrally located.

"My extended family and I spent a week at Blue Hill and had a wonderful time. The house is so beautiful and well laid out. I grew up in an old house and it felt like coming home. It was terribly hot and humid the whole week, but with the central air conditioning we were never uncomfortable. We took day trips to the arboretum, grist mill, and Long Branch Historic house, all of which are literally five minutes from the house. My sister-in-law got riding lessons at a horse farm around the corner, and we went tubing down the Shenandoah at Watermelon park. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing place in the country that isn't super remote."
