  • What an amazing place!

"I was going to write a long drawn out review, but the review written by David M nailed it for me and my family to a 'T'. The lodge is just amazing, and it's very clear that the owners have put tremendous thought, effort and care (emphasize CARE) into successfully providing their tenants with a truly 'turn-key' vacation home that caters to such a broad spectrum of interests and people. Just amazing! One thing I can add that was important for our particular situation is that the driveway splits, and gives 'no-stairs' access to the lower, and middle floors. This made it so easy to unload, and load, and particularly easy for my elderly father. Our group consisted of 8 adults, and 6 children- ages 4-16. Not one complaint or grumble over a 4 day stretch from any of 14 people in one house. I think that says it all. We can't wait to go back! If you're looking for a place to stay with a large group- look no further. this is the place."

  • Beautiful cottage in the mountains

"The Quietude Cottage is an awesome place for some rest and relaxation. Walking in the door immediately gives a very welcome feeling. The piano room has lots of games and books and even a nice daybed to relax on. The kitchen has modern appliances, a popcorn machine with all the fixin's and plenty of dishes, cookware and everything else you could need to prepare and enjoy your meals. The bedrooms are cozy and clean, the beds are comfortable and the entire house has beautiful floors and paintings fill the walls. Outside there is a patio, grill and lovely koi ponds with water effects. Elizabeth really cares about the guests who occupy her home and their experiences while in the area. She provides plenty of information about the area and has really thought about everything. There is a new addition being added on to the cottage and I can only imagine how beautiful it will be when it is done! We will definitely rent Quietude Cottage again when we are in the area and highly recommend it to anyone whether it is just a couple looking for some quiet time, or a family with children, even a girlfriends getaway weekend!"

  • Great place for a sisters getaway

"The cottage was perfect for our weekend retreat from our busy schedules. It was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The hot tub in the back was a super extra. The kitchen was well stocked and even had condiments like salt n pepper, cinnamon, oil, etc. We'd gladly return again. Thank you Amanda."

  • Great location, good condition, clean and cozy

"The house is dry, clean and well maintained. It is quite spacious, for even three families. The open floor plan make it even better. The master bedroom is huge! It would be great to have a tv in the bedrooms. We like the deck and small playground, which are great for group BBQ and kids to play. A pity is that most things are not working in the game room. Although we like the house very much, we have to remind families with small children that the stairs and bunk bed with fan so close are safety concerns. Lorri is very nice and helpful during our booking and stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who would like to enjoy some quiet family time in Shenandoah valley."
