  • Our stay at their farm

"What a wonderful place for a family vacation! A beautiful historic home with just the right updates on absolutely breathtaking grounds. We have never stayed in a home so well stocked. There was everything you could think of from kitchen supplies, spices, movies, games galore, and linens. Very comfortable beds. Our family spent time playing games indoors as well as outdoors. The lake is a bit of a walk away but so worth it. We were able to dock our boat right there. Kids enjoyed playing in the water and we all enjoyed the beauty of the lake by boat. So many precious memories made during our stay. I highly recommend this property!"

  • Beautiful home, highly recommend

"This home was a great fit for us. It is very well maintained, has TONS of room, is close to the lake and was in a peaceful area. Between the bunk beds upstairs, the ones in the basement, the three larger beds (queens I believe) plus all the other space like couches and floor space for air mattresses, this is a great place for a family or two to meet and enjoy the lake. The home was clean. The kitchen is updated and has everything you could need. There are movies and books to peruse. There's a poker table, foosball, ping pong, horse shoes, etc. There are actually two docks on the lake available to you. One is a short walk through a wide path. The other is a longer walk through the woods but is more private. Both docks are fit to tie up a boat or jet ski. The owners were easy to communicate with and we received our deposit back within 2 days. My only one negative would be the pillows. They were a little worn out. We did not opt for the linen service and brought our own sheets, towels and such. We also brought our own pillows so that didn't bother us at all. There were plenty of blankets which was great because the temperatures dipped while we were there. We will definitely return to this home again in the future."

  • Absolutely beautiful property!

"This was the perfect accommodation for our family as we gathered to celebrate our son's commissioning and graduation from Duke University in May. Although it is about a 50 minute drive we were able to have everyone together in a beautiful and relaxing setting. House is beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped and the lake was a beautiful backdrop."

  • Wonderful Stay

"Our family of 12 was easily accommodated at Violet's Grove. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, watching the deer and groundhogs from the porch swing, and the ease of having the boat docks. The owners were easy to work with, the house was comfy and clean, and the kitchen well stocked. We will definitely be back to stay again at Violet's Grove."
