  • Our stay at their farm

"What a wonderful place for a family vacation! A beautiful historic home with just the right updates on absolutely breathtaking grounds. We have never stayed in a home so well stocked. There was everything you could think of from kitchen supplies, spices, movies, games galore, and linens. Very comfortable beds. Our family spent time playing games indoors as well as outdoors. The lake is a bit of a walk away but so worth it. We were able to dock our boat right there. Kids enjoyed playing in the water and we all enjoyed the beauty of the lake by boat. So many precious memories made during our stay. I highly recommend this property!"

  • Absolutely beautiful property!

"This was the perfect accommodation for our family as we gathered to celebrate our son's commissioning and graduation from Duke University in May. Although it is about a 50 minute drive we were able to have everyone together in a beautiful and relaxing setting. House is beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped and the lake was a beautiful backdrop."

  • Relaxing Getaway

"From a teenager's perspective: This is a wonderful place to get away from it all! My mom, dad and I came to the Cornerstone Cabin for a much-needed family vacation. While pulling in the driveway, we spotted a beautiful Barred Owl, a deer, and 2 fawns. As soon as we arrived, we knew it would be a great week (and we weren't disappointed). It is evident that a lot of love, thought, and hard work was put into the cabin. It is spacious, yet cozy and relaxing. When morning came, Mom sipped her coffee on the screened porch while watching the hummingbirds. Dad and I got up early to explore the lake by kayak and fish. We spent a lot of our time on the pontoon-dock fishing for catfish, jumping into the water, and feeding the perch that live near the bank. The water was very warm and clear; great for swimming. There is a nice trail to hike out to the end of the property where you can find a more gradual slope into the water and a pretty view of the lake. Our two dogs even enjoying playing along the shore and exploring the 11 acres of woods. An interesting discovery of ours was the occasional small, non-stinging, freshwater jellyfish! We used the charcoal grill for some tasty meals and ate almost every dinner on the screened-in porch! On our last day, we kayaked to a wooded island at the north end of the lake to find a geocache. We were surprised by the lack of boat traffic. Overall, the whole week was great and we would recommend the Cornerstone Cabin to anyone looking for seclusion, peace and quiet, and a little adventure! Thanks to the owners for the welcome gift and for making the rental process so simple :)"

  • Beautiful family time away-from-it-all at Pine Landing

"We just spent a great week at Pine Landing by beautiful Kerr Lake. What a gorgeous, secluded place to relax and enjoy time together! Ten of us from three states and between the ages of 2 and 72 were perfectly accommodated by the beautiful house. We loved having our coffee on the screen porch every morning overlooking the sparkling lake, early morning kayaking around the peaceful inlet, and lazy afternoons swimming and floating off the private dock. We looked forward every evening to meals together around the table in the scenic dining room. The newly remodeled kitchen had everything we needed for cooking (two fridges, double convection oven plus range, ample cookware and serving dishes), cleaning up (2 dishwashers and two sinks), and even celebrating our 8-year-old's birthday.. The teenagers appreciated the "cottage" living area where they could play games and watch tv. The parents of the two-year-old appreciated that there were plenty of places we could hang out without disturbing afternoon naps. We enjoyed the area wildlife (particularly dear and blue heron) and even the walkway through the pine woods was beautiful. We rented a pontoon boat for tubing and fishing, some of us toured the nearby historic Prestwould Plantation, and we enjoyed a few of the area restaurants. We'll always remember our time together at Pine Landing!"
