  • Splendid Getaway!

"My family and I had a wonderful 4-day getaway at the Big Ponderosa. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 toddlers and had more than enough space for all of us. The cabin had a cozy feeling to it just like home, was very well equipped, and had stunning views overlooking the snow-covered golf course. There were various puzzles and games to keep adults and toddlers entertained. However, we’ve mostly enjoyed playing in the snow and sledding every day just outside the house. Michelle, the owner, was very accommodating and even left few sleds in the garage for us to use. We are definitely staying here again."

  • Large, comfortable condo and beautiful setting

"I have stayed in many vacation-rental condos, and I would give this a 10 out of 10 score. I can't think of anything it was lacking -- in comfort or in accessories, or location. Great wi-fi connection. The best part for me was the skiing/snowshoeing right out the door. Groomed trails everywhere. At least one Resort trail interfaced with the Lake Wenatchee Park trails (which I think one should have had a permit to ski on but I got away with a nice run to the Lake shore and back without anyone challenging me). The owner was very responsive and communicative, and it was a great convenience that the condo had a key-box for the front door, so there was no need to hand-exchange keys on arrival or departure. There's a helpful notebook in the condo, explaining everything about the condo very clearly. This is a very highly recommended place to stay. It was well-worth the price. Practical information: 1. Bring all your own groceries, as there aren't any stores very near-by. Great cooking kitchen in the condo. The Honeycomb Lodge Restaurant at the resort was open and looked inviting, but, except on the weekend, there didn't seem to be many people staying in the area so I'd check in advance to see that it's open if you want to go there during a winter stay. I suspect that visitors from Leavenworth and the area come and dine there. 2. Bring presto-logs for the fireplace. Owner provided two to start with, which was very nice. 3. There's no winter rec. equipment rentals on-site 4. Condo had a couple of plastic flying saucers and one plastic toboggan-type sled for the little sledding hill on the premises. 5. To download/print a pdf of a ski/snowshoe trail map, google "Kahler Glen Winter Recreation Map." The Pro Shop there also had the trail map. I didn't see any trail maps in the condo. 6. Google "Lake trails" for a pdf of the Lake Wenatchee St. Park ski trail map."

  • Awesome Cabin in the woods

"We had a blast staying at the Cedar Cove Cottage! We visited during February when there was plenty of snow and it was just gorgeous. We even had our own personal hill to sled down on the steep driveway. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and had a great layout and view of the lake. It was very cozy and really enjoyed the seclusion. It had a great deck and large area by the lake and we hope to come back during the summer to enjoy it."

  • Wonderful post Christmas vacaction!

"Perfect 3 bedroom, end unit condo in a complex with on about 10 units. Only 5 miles from Plain and about 20-25 minutes to Leavenworth. Wonderful view from the deck overlooking the fairway. Cozy living room with a nice fireplace. The added bonus of snow falling outside made for a magical winter wonderland experience! Condo was clean, well laid out with an updated kitchen. The master bedroom was larger than I expected and had a great territorial views and the bedrooms upstairs were perfect. New paint and carpet were a bonus. Jim, was great to work with and always responded to my questions. Only issue for some, would be an unusually firm king bed in the master. However, slept great and always woke up refreshed so maybe firm is not all that bad. Just not used to it. Would definitely recommend this condo if you plan to stay in the Lake Wenatchee area. The golf course community of Kahler Glen was was very peaceful and having groomed cross country ski trails out your front door was very cool!"
