"We can fit our family and our friends family here, with extra space for a few extra! The kitchen is beautiful! We come every fall and love sitting on The porch watching the season change!"

  • Nice cabin to get away from it all

"We stayed here with 3 adults and 3 teens and it was the perfect space for us. The kids enjoyed the bunk bed room and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was much better equipped than most rental homes we've stayed in. It's quite a remote spot and it was a great place to get away from it all - we wished we had stayed longer than 3 nights! There are lots of games and other fun things to enjoy in the house. We had a few glitches that were taken care of immediately by the owner/property manager. First, our door code didn't work (we were given a new code by the owner as soon as we called), and then the BBQ ran out of propane (the nearby caretaker brought a new one right away, and apparently there is normally an extra one there). This was made a bit more challenging by the fact that none of us could get cell phone signals at the house (just drive down the street a little bit and you get a signal though) and also that you can't make long-distance calls from the house, so you can't call the owners from the house. That made solving the problems a bit of a bother, but they were solved immediately. We recommend having the owner's phone number with you. We enjoyed the town of Leavenworth (about 30 min away), went to Munchen Haus for bratwurst. We also enjoyed swimming at a quiet little rocky beach on Blackbird Island / Waterfront Park in Leavenworth - bring water shoes for more comfort. There is a bit of a current so might not be great for little ones for swimming there. There were a lot of people floating down the river on tubes which looked fun (a local business rents tubes and drives you back to the starting point). We also went to Lake Wenatchee State Park (20 mins away) and there's quite a nice beach and park area there and a little store I think, and lots of parking for day use ($10/day). There is lots of hiking and other stuff to do around the area but we didn't have time! Overall it was a wonderful summer vacation at the Black Forest Lodge and I would highly recommend it."

  • Great location for a family reunion

"We had a long overdue family reunion that included members from 2 months to 90 years. Everyone had a great time due to the spacious accommodations and the location. There was hiking, mountain biking, swimming, shopping, the trip to Leavenworth and lots of family fun. This lodge us amazing. It is very well maintained, in the center of everything and spacious enough for everyone to have privacy when wanted or be part if the group. You will not be disappointed if you choose this location for a get together with family or friends. I can only imagine how beautiful it is with snow on the ground and a warm fire in the fireplace."

  • Great Location For Floating the Wenatchee River

"We just finished a week at River Haus (7/29-8/4/2016). This is the second year in a row that we've rented this property, so obviously we enjoyed it the first time....and the second time as well. It's a fairly large, well appointed house, albeit it has the typical rental maintenance issues, but nothing major. The thing we like most about the property is it's location. You can walk less than a third of a mile up Beaver Valley Road, put in at a good spot, and then float for miles back to the front of the house. I also very much enjoy sitting on the expansive deck with a good book and watching others float by. The owners are very nice to work with and I highly recommend this home away from home."
