  • Grand Fir Lodge is everything you can imagine in a gorgeously appointed mountain-style lodge.

"My writing group uses the lodge every year for a retreat where we work on our latest books, share information, and support each other as PNW authors. The house and property surrounding the lodge are perfect for our quiet, private retreat. Not only are there loads of sleeping options, from a luxurious Master Bedroom and Ensuite, to a cozy bunkroom, but there are enough bathrooms and tucked-away nooks for everyone to spread out in. The master chef-style kitchen has everything needed including two dishwashers, a second island sink and every cooking tool you could imagine. We cook elaborate meals while at the lodge and have never wanted for anything except maybe a calorie extractor. The suite over the garage is a little slice of heaven and privacy for anyone needing quiet, and provides a great a view of the deer who visit the property daily on that side of the house. Although we don't turn on the TV's, there are many and the cozy den is a perfect media room off the great room. This year we jumped in the hot tub and enjoyed watching elk cruise by on the golf course in front of the house. We also walked to Swiftwater Winery to do some tasting on the last day and ended up having a last night dance party using the iPad built in to the house-wide sound system. There are a couple of bikes in the garage, a ping pong table, loads of movies, books, board games, and although we didn't use any of these, we did appreciate the extremely speedy internet, loads of wall plugs, the view, the lack of neighbors, the fireplaces, the sumptuous bed linens and pillows, the large dining room table and many chairs, the window seat in the Great Room, the artwork, and the speed with which the owner, Pat, responds to a question. Thanks to the Suncadia gang for making our stay another successful writers' retreat. Love Grand Fir Lodge!"

  • Stunning views, beautiful main room and kitchen area. needs updating and maintenance

"Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great views and location. Pool and hot tub area clean and nice lawns for yard games. Free access to paddle boards, canoes, bikes was a plus. Cons were out of date finishes, nonfunctional air conditioning upper level, garbage disposal never got fixed during our stay even though we reported it broken upon our arrival for a one week stay. Simple items such as extra toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, not stocked."

  • Unforgettable time with family!

"What a lovey home! 5 star resort this is! Our family had a great loved it! The snow was perfect to play tub was ready and clean! Loved taking resort shuttle over to ice skate then to Swiftwater Cellers for some food and wine! I definately reccomend this place. It also has its own circular driveway...secluded and safe...perfect for kid bike riding if you don't want them on the main bike path."
