  • Wow! What a Gem

"This house was a perfect fit for our family of 4, including two kids, 9 and 11. The view is beyond words! I could sit all day in the coffee nook and soak it in. We arrived to a tray of freshly baked cinnamon rolls and breakfast muffins and couldn't have been more delighted. The house is thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, very clean, and has a nicely stocked kitchen. It is also a kayaker's dream! We came with 4 kayaks, and entry into the water was simple. We explored Case Inlet, Vaughn Bay, and Rocky Bay, and the kids were really able to hone their skills. The wildlife was fantastic. The yard and beach kept the kids occupied for hours. I would highly recommend this rental for an adventure or just a quiet getaway. I look forward to coming back."

  • Fantastic Place, just a few things to know ahead of time...

"We loved our stay here. I especially appreciated the kind and efficient communication with the owner! We liked the location a lot because it isn't too far from Seattle and it is right on the beach. It is also close to Lake Cushman activities and Hoodsport (grocery story and ICE CREAM parlors). The cabin is definitely rustic, but clean with all the modern things you need like a bathroom, shower with good water pressure, running water, tv with dvd only... :) My absolute favorite thing about this property was the deck with a big round picnic table on it. The view was great and it was so nice to sit out there in the morning and read with my coffee and later in the day we played cards and could even eat around the table, which fits 6 adults nicely (we had 5 adults + 2 little kids around it). What I think is important to know is that since you need to stay off the neighbor's property, the beach access you do have is steep, so was difficult to impossible for our older family members to navigate. Another thing to note is that none of the bedrooms have doors on them. We made it work and everything else was so great that this wasn't a major problem, but we were surprised at first and I think it is good to know what to expect. You can still change clothes in the bathroom or in privacy if no one walks in the room. Lastly, there aren't curtains on the bedroom windows, except for one in the master, but it is sheer. As an adult, this wouldn't be a problem for going to sleep (it gets dark around 9pm during the summer), but it made for a bit of a challenge to get our little ones to sleep (no door + lots of light). Don't get me wrong, this place is so great, which is why I give it 5 stars, and we will be back, but I think it's good to know ahead of time about some of the quirks so that you are totally pleased with your stay! Thank you Cynthia for a great time!"

  • Nice weekend get-away.

"Our family enjoyed the home very much. It is a very nice space with everything we could possibly need. It feels peaceful and secluded and has a lovey view of the water. Not a criticism of the home, but there is not much near here. It is a pretty slow and long drive into Belfair, so do all your shopping before heading out."

  • Beautiful home and wonderful canal/mountain views

"4 adults and 4 tween/teen boys. Crabbing and oyster gathering for three days was great fun with foosball and ping pong in down times. The included small rowboat helped a lot and the views were fantastic. The home is very comfortable with all that is needed present in the kitchen and labeled. I guess a complete review always has to include some "cons" so I suppose some might be put off by the highway noise, but that isn't noticeable inside the house. The railing on the back deck is a little shaky as in the plank leading to the beach, but on mentioning it to the owner he said he was already in the process of repairing them. The only other thing I noticed was some jagged rust on the metal where the rowboat is locked and stored. Be a little careful there, but the two out buildings are fantastic and well stocked with all you could need and very well organized. This place is absolutely fantastic and at a very reasonable price. I can't say how much the 8 of us enjoyed our time here and would love to go back sometime."
