  • Lovely and serene beach house.

"We just had the best time, there was something for everyone from my 60+mother in law, who loved sitting in the glider watching the tides roll in by the big windows, to my young nephew who played badminton with us on the lawn just by the beach. We all loved watching the bald eagles, sea otters, sea ducks and deer all from the wrap around deck. This was such a relaxing place to stay. The home itself felt like a home, everything you might need is there. I could tell the owners stay there sometimes as well, because it felt cared for. I would definitely stay again."

  • Location, location, location!

"This 1960's (?) A-frame sits right on Hood Canal with access to the water via a steepish wooden staircase. The back deck is comfy with beautiful view of McDonald Cove including eagles, sparrows, seals frolicking about! The place does have 2 kayaks, a hammock, and heating device for deck for evening dinners. That being said, 4 adults would be the maximum number of people as only 1 bedroom is private, the second one being up a steep staircase under th "A" which is open to the main livingroom. The livingroom (decked out with 2 leather loveseats, one droopy futon couch and a wood burning stove) also looks out on the sound- very restful. The futon couch folds out to a double bed that kids could sleep on. The kitchen was adequate. (Could have used a teakettle and fridge was a bit rusty.) Carpeting in livingroom and in upstairs bedroom needs to be replaced; however, never had to worry about messing up the floors...Enjoying time at the cabin and on the private waterfront was a real plus.My husband and I also enjoyed exploring Duckabush River (Murhut Falls), DosewallipsRiver (oysters, clams, oh my!), and Hamma Hamma River and eating oysters outdoors @ Hamma Hamma Seafood. Owner provided good customer service and instructions for cabin (turning on/off systems) were clear and easily followed. A negative upon leaving-we were instructed to take our garbage/recycling w/ us except the landfill was not open on the day we left. Had to leave our refuse at the State Park."

  • Family Vacation

"Pulling into the driveway of this house is breathtaking. The trees are gorgeous and everything is still. The house is stunning as well. The views are amazing of Hood Canal. The upstairs was a great place for the kids. They took it over and made themselves at home. The beds were comfy and the house was very warm and inviting. This was our first vacation with our 4 month old, she loved sitting in the huge recliner over looking the water. Everything about this property is wonderful. If you want relaxing then this is your place! We were able to take a ferry to Seattle, visit wildlife farm, check our amazing view points and play in waterfalls."

  • Comfortable and spacious home right on the water

"Tonya was easy to work with in renting the house, and it was VERY clean and comfortable. The location on a bay adjacent to an estuary made for a very interesting environment, with lots to explore as the tide moved in and out. Recommend bringing your own kayaks or renting from Kayak Brinnon (they will deliver and pick them up) -- we saw seals, many eagles, osprey, herons, kingfishers, even an otter who left tracks on the beach. The property was as described. For example, the kitchen was well-supplied with utensils and appliances, but bring all your own foodstuffs, including spices (salt and pepper were there). Beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and extra pillows for our crowd. The big table allowed everyone to sit together, and there was another smaller table for puzzles. We enjoyed a cloudy day in Poulsbo, and rated highly our anniversary dinner at Bar Paella there. Don't miss Sluys Bakery for some authentic Swedish bake goods. Everyone voted to return next summer!"
