  • Perfect fun in the sun destination!

"Our host's John and Dodie were very accommodating and everything you could possibly need for either a quick get-a-way or extensive stay for a relaxing stay was included. The décor vintage and tasteful and the furniture was very comfortable and clean. The home has a real family feel to it. We look forward to visiting again in the future. Bill and Cindy"

  • An absolutely wonderful place to stay!!

"What more can be said about this wonderful home and wonderful owners? All the reviews you see are 100% accurate. This charming mobile home is spacious, quiet, and *****clean*****, sparkling clean! There are beautiful quilts on every bed and plenty of extra blankets in the closet. There was so much to do in this house we couldn't get to it all. TV, videos, game room, BBQ and probably things we never discovered. We are definitely coming back to pick up where we left off. The views out the back give you a beautiful view of Black Lake. The views out the front give you a beautiful view of Ardell's 50 acres of cranberry bogs. We were there when the fields were all red. It was a beautiful sight. This was our first adventure renting through VRBO and we were very leery. We hope every place we stay in the future is as wonderful as The Lakeside Family Home. Thank you, Ardell, for a wonderful stay."

  • Great Fishing and Family Vacation!

"The Captain's Quarters was the perfect place for our fishing and family vacation. The loft had plenty of space for my family to play games and be together, but also spread out when we wanted to do different things. My husband appreciated the easy access to the port on those early fishing mornings, as well as the spacious garage that made cleaning and storing all the fish he caught a breeze. The kids loved being able to explore all the little shops within walking distance (particularly the ice cream parlor!) and fishing right off the dock. Overall, this is a wonderful place to have an amazing, relaxing,a and fun family vacation. We will definitely be back!"

  • Good first experience in Astoria

"Solid old house in a very convenient location of Astoria - walk or short drive to just about anywhere. There were only 2 of us on this trip but its a great floor plan for a larger group, albeit only one full bath (additional toilet on main floor). Immaculately clean and well maintained for its age. Must be ok with stairs. Yes, its on the main road with an overpass close by but with windows closed not a nuisance. We spent most of our time on the glassed in porch because of the panoramic views of the water. Owners were very communicative and vested in guests' experience. Would stay here again."
