  • Newborn, Toddler and Assorted Family

"Port Ludlow proved an excellent location - easy distance from Seattle, close to both Port Townsend and Kitsap Peninsula parks, Chimicum's Finn River Cidery (has a play area and beautiful grounds plus great cider) and positioned well for both rock and sand beach lovers, kayaking and soaking up water/mountain views from the deck. We enjoyed many close-by walks, (though there are too many stairs to make it stroller-friendly, the little-used roads at the resort were helpful), visiting deer, waterfall hike and the wonder of the living beach exposed by a negative low tide. The condo was very comfortable for us - 5 adults plus toddler and newborn with spacious bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, appealing art/furniture and easy to use, well-stocked kitchen. I spent my home relaxing time on the deck with my chair aimed up-channel to the distant Cascades. The landlords were very easy to work with. We hope to go back again."

  • Fantastically private, comfortable, and homey. A great place for family gatherings!

"Our extended family enjoyed Thorndyke Lodge as our Christmas destination. The Lodge, situated right on the waterfront, with gorgeous views of Hood Canal, was amply big and concurrently cozy. The long dining table was equally valued for its ability to support group meals as well as puzzle assembly. The four bedrooms and numerous beds made for comfortable, convenient stayovers for all guests, their separation at the far end of the home ensured quiet nights, lazy mornings, and personal privacy. The kitchen comes very well stocked, with basic cooking needs well covered (spices, small appliances, corkscrew, dishes, bowls, etc.) and a small gift basket of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate delivers a cozy, warm beverage for cold nights and mornings. The home is well looked after - carpets, furniture, and appliances (except for a very minor issue with lighting a burner or two on the stovetop) are in good shape and working order. As noted in the property description, the TV is DVD only, so come prepared if you need/want video entertainment. Stated, with the home's wifi and a computer and HDMI to Component cable we brought, we were easily able to connect to Netflix and Hulu and keep the kids entertained. In all, we wanted for nothing, but I know that any needs would have been quickly addressed by the great, highly-engaged, and helpful owner, Tonya. Getting our security deposit back was straightforward, if not just a tad slow (they send a check vs. credit card refund), but all-in-all, a really great experience all around. Would definitely consider again for another family get-together, and recommend others do so, too. Next time, we'll perhaps look at staying during warmer months, when we can enjoy the enormous deck and more of what Thorndyke Bay has to offer."

  • Relaxing oasis

"House is in a quiet beautiful neighborhood, just outside of Port Ludlow. Great place for family reunion! Lots of living space for large group to enjoy. House was very clean and well stocked. WIFI was strong - we had no issues with it! Amazing views from every corner of the house! Sunroom was used every morning - we all found ourselves having our morning coffee looking out over the water! Good restaurants in Port Ludlow and in nearby towns. Easy to explore Seattle or Edmonds via ferry, or drive to Port Townsend, Poulsbo, or Port Gamble. Can also easily find your way to Port Angeles and take the ferry to Victoria for the day! During our stay we also saw a submarine pass by on its way to Bangor Naval station! Great place! Highly recommended!"

  • Perfect for a Group

"We had a group of 8 staying in the house for a wedding at Kitsap Memorial State Park. The house was fantastic! Very entertaining with lots to do. The lots is beautiful and the house was great! Very clean with lots of games and puzzles. We saw dolphins and seals from the beautiful deck looking right out over the water. We will definitely be returning!"
