  • A Beautiful and Wonderful Place

"The Garden Cottage is very well appointed and comfortable. All modern appliances and well equipped Kitchen. Supper nice Bathrooms, large washer and dryer. Very nice deck area with great hot tub. Enjoyed our stay and would book again if staying the the Port Ludlow area. Have booked many VRBO rentals and this is one of the best."

  • Soul Soother

"We arrived on a typical cool, windy, rainy Pacific NW evening, and Oak Bay stood warm and welcoming. Loved how the motion sensing lights lit up our arrival, and made negotiating the lock box and entry to the home so easy. Once inside, it was an easy flip of a switch and turn of the thermostat, and we had a cozy fire ready to help us relax with evening cocktails. We knew from the listing that there were water views, but as it was dark we couldn't really tell what we were going to see. The next morning was amazing - tendrils of fog and mist, seagulls, Indian Island in the distance and the beautiful bay. We could just feel the stress melt away. It just got better during our entire stay. The house is warm and comforting, much less sterile than some VRBO properties, and fully equipped in the kitchen and with plenty of books, games, and brochures for local attractions. We mostly hung out around the house, but ventured out for a delicious lunch at the Port Ludlow Resort, took a "windshield tour" of Ft. Worden and Ft. Townsend, and explored Indian Island. If you go, be sure to read the little book "Hadlock Hill" telling the stories about the town came into being through pretty much the efforts of one family during the early part of the 20th century. David emailed the evening of our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory, and once again during our stay. We appreciated the attentiveness, and the fact that he chose to email rather than call to avoid being intrusive. We're hoping to return!"

  • A little piece of heaven

"This was an amazing place for us to relax and enjoy time with our family. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful as well as beautiful. The house is so well furnished, I can't think of anything one might need or want that isn't there. The deck overlooking the water extends the entire length of the house and had gorgeous pots of flowers when we were there. Slightly uphill from the house is a meadow with an old orchard (we had ripe plums and blackberries, and the pears and apples were nearly ready) We watched the deer grazing there nearly every morning and evening. Giant blue heron and otters could be seen from the front deck. The old boat house is a treasure of things collected over the years. Our grown children enjoyed using the kayaks, and there are bicycles in the garage. With a bedroom suite at each end of the house it can be private as well. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for those who like to cook and bake. Kilisut Harbor will always remain a very special place for us to remember !"
