  • Very special family reunion

"Our family of 8 plus one little guy spent 6 days, 5 nights at the Wolf Den. The kitchen was well-stocked with every amenity we needed, including paper towels, spices, soap, dish washer soap and laundry detergent. The house was equipped with WiFi, but we had very limited cell service. They provided a landline, though, which was nice. Beds were comfortable and the loft sleeping arrangement worked out well for our family's needs. There was a propane bbq on the deck and a great fire pit in the backyard. We were surprised by a herd of elk one morning in our backyard. Quite the treat. There's a nice walking trail to the river. Even though there was only one shower, there was a separate toilet in the laundry room which also worked out well for our family. The location of this house was close to the beaches at La Push and Rialto where we did some hikes. Also, close to the Hoh Rain Forest, too. Thanks, Michelle, for the salmon dinner! The north Washington coast is spectacular and renting this home allowed our family to spend time together and enjoy the beauty of the area. Karen & Ernie"

  • Great Week with Family at the Beach

"We've been going to Westport at least once a summer for 14 years, staying at various home rentals as well as Westport by the Sea condos. This house was by far the nicest we've stayed in: the owners have done a fantastic job in keeping it up-to-date, clean, and utilitarian. You never know what kind of weather you're going to get, and we had a great mix of going out for wonderful walks on the beach, surfing at Westhaven, and making a few trips to the marina, and staying in for board and card games, watching movies, making music, cooking up some great meals, reading, and overall having great family time. The view from the main upstairs - kitchen, living area, dining room, and deck - is just phenomenal - as good a view, and as close to the beach, as any property around. The separate entertainment area - with a nice A/V system - was outfitted very comfortably and was separate enough from the main living area so as not to be too noisy. The hot tub was a very nice plus, and the bedroom with a bunk bed plus an additional single worked great for our 3 kids. Even the garage worked out great - we've had to unpack or pack in the rain and wind on past trips, and being able to unload and load inside a clean garage was super nice - the weather cooperated this time so it wasn't critical, but I can see it being a great bonus when the rain is coming down. For anyone coming, the only advice I'd give isn't really specific to this property but for any trip to Westport: (1) bring all your groceries with you (we loaded up at Whole Foods and PCC in Seattle before we left) except go to Merino's for fantastic smoked salmon and fresh seafood, and (2) be prepared for all kinds of weather - you can always go for a walk on the beach, but you may be wearing clothes you'd normally wear to Stevens or Crystal."

  • Better than advertised!

"The home and owners were fantastic. Our experience with Bob started well before we arrived at the home. We traveled with two infants and had emailed to see if there were any bassinets or pack N plays at the home. The reply came back that there were none. About a week later, Bob emailed to say that he had purchased two pack N plays for our use. It was so nice to have them available and so nice of Bob to take care of that detail for us. The house itself is great. Very clean. And much bigger than expected. It was nice enough, in fact, that we changed our plans to be able to spend more time at the house and enjoy it. Lastly, I have mention how great the owners were through our stay. Bob met us upon our very late arrival and went through the home in detail explaining small details like how to work the remote for the ceiling fans and how to turn on the fireplace. He was available to answer any questions and help out anywhere we needed. It was a great stay. Oh and I should also mention that the location was fantastic. And as a tip for future guests, check out the sunsets at the state park located a quarter mile away from the home for outstanding views."

  • Amazing!!

"I would recommend this to anyone, and we are hoping it is available next summer, we want to rent it again. My sisters and wanted to find a house that was big enough to hold all of us, but the main propriety was its location to the ocean. This home is right on the ocean, with a lot of sea life right in front of you. Probable the best thing we saw was an eagle carrying a heron right in front of us, he picked it up and then dropped it. Nature at it's best. We were celebrating our moms 80th birthday, and were planning a surprise party. We all love the ocean and we love to beach comb, and we found that perfect house. We found many treasures, and had a lot of fun. The house was very comfortable, and we had no problem with 8 of us. It would have been even better if it hadn't rained, then we could have slept under the stars in the wind screened room. Rain or shine, we had a good time. Cheryl the owner was SO amazing. She sent me emails in advance with many ideas of things to do in the area. She also called to tell me we could use the phone, because cell service can be spotty, who does that, and to see if we were having fun. Who does that!!,Well someone who cares about their renters does. So with that said. Thank you Cheryl for everything!! It's the simple things that make things work!!"
