  • Clean, Quiet, and Ideally Located

"This was our second time staying at A Tranquil Retreat, and both times have been well worth it. It is exceptionally quiet, and we love that the Discovery Trail is so close, taking us a mere 10-12 minutes to walk to the heart of Long Beach. You can see enough of the ocean from the balcony off the living room, and the cul-de-sac ensures very light traffic. The deck off of the main downstairs bedroom is very pleasant and relaxing, with a lovely view of the pine trees and the sound of the ocean. We have always had a variety of ages stay (from toddler to grandparent) and it fits everyone quite well. The proprietor has been very helpful and responsive each time we have stayed there. Highly recommend!"

  • Wonderful Views and Location

"Thanks so much for letting us stay in your apartment. It was very nice and we had a great time. I loved sitting in the window seats and watching the activity. My husband and daughter are coming back in a month and I know they will be very happy to be there. Hope we didn't make too much noise we tried hard not to disturb you. Love all your wind chimes also. Thanks"

  • Already planning our next trip to Beach Life!

"You simply can't go wrong with Beach Life. It is a cozy home overlooking the beach/lighthouse and the mountains. It was a perfect size for the 6 of us (my mom, husband, and 3 kids). It was hard to tear ourselves away to explore the rest of the Peninsula. Speaking of the Peninsula, it is a great home base for the wonderful adventures awaiting there. The guide books in the house were super helpful. You can't beat the fantastic views at Hurricane Hill trail. Our favorite though was Camp Handy, which was even closer to the house. Can't wait to come back with kayaks and check out the lighthouse next time!"

  • Another visit to our favorite vacation destination

"This was our third visit and the first time we stayed for an extended period. Guess what? We wished we had a few more days. We even survived the storm of the century and only lost power during the day. The gas fireplace kept us nice and warm when the power was off."
