  • Gorgeous location, commodious quarters, terrific host

"The wedding of our son and his girlfriend brought together 10 members of our two families for nearly a week; the Hansville house was an exceptional fit for our needs. The bride and groom had the elegant master suite on the top floor and the other four couples each had their own space. The chef's kitchen accommodated a real professional chef who catered the wedding. The magical moment itself occurred on the beach, down a short path from the house, while the generous lawn allowed easy placement of tables and seating for more than 60, as well as a buffet and bar area. We spent many enjoyable hours soaking in the fabulous views of the Olympics to our west and Mt. Rainier to our east from the spacious deck. The home is comfortable, super clean, and thoughtfully decorated. Holly Smith was a delightful and helpful host. For nearly a year, she answered myriad questions about how to organize a wedding from afar and she connected us with reliable vendors and local providers. We were in heaven during our six days there and all 10 of us agreed that it would be the perfect location for another family get together. Thank you, Holly!"

  • Perfect place for making family memories!

"This was our first visit to Milky Way Farm Guest House and we found it to be the perfect place for making wonderful family memories! Our extended family of 11 (6 adults and 5 children, 5 years and under) spent 6 delightful days here enjoying farm life and exploring the gorgeous Kitsap Peninsula. The owners were very kind and helpful. The old farmhouse itself is a treasure...even more lovely than the photos on the website show, and with picture perfect views out every window. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed. Each day for us started and ended on the large back porch, sitting in the swing or rockers, with coffee in hand, while we visited and watched kids and grandkids play out under the orchard trees and the cows graze in the pasture just beyond. The owners treated us to farm fresh eggs, and invited us to pick pears and plums from the fruit trees. Out front there was an old glider swing to play on and a little pond and stream to explore. Needless to say, our kids never wanted to leave the farm! Truly, Milky Way Farm is a child's heaven and an adult's oasis! Away from the farm, we enjoyed a family wedding at beautiful Kitsap Memorial State Park. We also visited Point No Point Lighthouse, where we explored the beach and watched a whale playing just off shore. On another outing, we took a ferry boat ride to Edmonds, ate fish and chips at Spud Fish & Chips, and then stopped and had ice cream at Mora's Iced Creamery in Kingston. This vacation will go in the books as one of our all time family favorites and Milky Way Farm will be a huge reason why! Can't wait to return!"

  • What a great house and property!

"This house and lakefront property worked very well for our first family weekend away with our new grandson. We had six adults and baby Ernie! (And Bentley, the dog.) Such great bedrooms, views and amenities for the 7 of us. We found ourselves gathering in several places in and around the house, or all spread out doing different activities. Being local Northwesterners, we felt no need to explore the Island...we are all boaters/campers already. Besides walking Bentley up the road a bit, and rowing around on the lake, we didn't leave the house and dock! Everything we needed or wanted was right there! The house was clean and lovely, and the livingroom furniture was well suited to lounging! Our weather was perfect for late September, calm and comfortable, with pure sunshine at times. TV in the den is perfect, leaving the rest of the house free from the TV noise if desired. The kitchen is very spacious and well-equipped, even providing some spices and herbs. Thanks to the owners for allowing a few more hours by granting a later check-out for our family on Sunday afternoon. If you go when it's warm outside, be sure to stand on the log and see what happens! I did it...I'm a 64-year old Grandma! Jackie. I believe we'll be back...there are things we didn't have time to do on this short weekend!"

  • First visit to Seattle

"We loved our stay here in Seattle. Darrell Kirk was very prompt in responding to our emails regarding our stay. Our home was very comfortable and easy to find. We came to Seattle for a wedding but would love to return and we will definitely consider staying at Treat House again. The bed was like heaven. One small suggestion I'd make is perhaps putting a handle on the wall near the shower as getting in and out of the deep tub with the raised tile next to tub could be dangerous. Thank you for a great place to stay! -Dave & Renee from Iowa"
