  • A perfect Christmas cabin

"Bird lovers beware, you won't want to leave this house! We loved watching and identifying all the species of feathered friends that were always in and near the water, especially at low tide. Bald eagles, egrets, merganser ducks, mallard ducks, bufflehead ducks, pelicans, seagulls, and on and on! And the salmon, so many in the water! Their fins looked like miniature sharks as they swam around spawning. The house itself was very comfortable for three adults. It was clean and well appointed. The kitchen served its purpose well as we prepared Christmas dinner and other meals. We had a hard time keeping away from the large windows that look out onto the stream and woods. We liked the secluded location, it was quiet and very dark at night, we slept well! The open bedrooms did not pose much of a problem as one bed could not see the other. We would definitely return."

  • Beautiful home and wonderful canal/mountain views

"4 adults and 4 tween/teen boys. Crabbing and oyster gathering for three days was great fun with foosball and ping pong in down times. The included small rowboat helped a lot and the views were fantastic. The home is very comfortable with all that is needed present in the kitchen and labeled. I guess a complete review always has to include some "cons" so I suppose some might be put off by the highway noise, but that isn't noticeable inside the house. The railing on the back deck is a little shaky as in the plank leading to the beach, but on mentioning it to the owner he said he was already in the process of repairing them. The only other thing I noticed was some jagged rust on the metal where the rowboat is locked and stored. Be a little careful there, but the two out buildings are fantastic and well stocked with all you could need and very well organized. This place is absolutely fantastic and at a very reasonable price. I can't say how much the 8 of us enjoyed our time here and would love to go back sometime."

  • Wonderful Gem!

"This is a beautiful location with a home that accommodated our group perfectly! We had 6 adults and 2 children (both age 5) and there was plenty of room for everyone. We happened to stay on a weekend with temps of 96-97 degrees, so we were in the water a lot!! It was fantastic to have the air conditioner at night and when we needed to get out of the sun and cool off during the day. Although the home is dated, everything worked and was very clean. We loved the easy beach access and our boys were fascinated by all the boats and barges. Our first night, there was a gorgeous harvest moon and we had s'mores at the fire pit. This is our favorite home on the water now!! Needless to say, we'll be back..."

  • Lovely Break from the holidays

"We had the best time during the off week between Christmas and New Years. Kids loved walking the beach and looking for crabs since the rain held off for us. Nita's in town was perfect and we found the best castle-like playground to run off all the pancakes and French toast. The house was so comfortable for two families of 4. Plenty of space for the kids to play games while the parents sat around the kitchen table talking and playing cards. Loved the lake views and all the birds during our morning coffee. We saw so many deer at dusk and plenty of wide open space for the kids to run around in the yard. I must say, our family has stayed in two dozen or so vrbos over the years and this one has the most well appointed kitchen I've ever seen. They thought of everything for travelers that prefer to cook in house when vacationing with family and friends. Great long weekend drive from Seattle for folks staying local."
