  • Lovely cabin made for the perfect vacation.

"The cabin was lovely, it was the perfect setting for our vacation. It was cozy and warm, a real nice atmosphere inside, just as it was described in the listing. It was clean and relatively well maintained. Looking out onto the stream was amazing, there were so many birds about, we even watched as bald eagles went fishing in the stream. The owner was very helpful. We would definitely go there again! And recommend it to others."

  • Amazing property. Owner was great to work with

"So nice and relaxing. I have three kids under 12 and they loved playing in the house, collecting oysters, riding in the rowboat and kayaks. My 12 year old and I kayaked over to Alderbrook one afternoon and had a snack. Kitchen was amazing, made some great meals. Beds were awesome, some of the best sleep wee have had in years. Easy to get to and just a great place. My father-in-law stayed in the room attached. it was so nice for him to have some space that he felt was his own and he could come to the main house since it was literally 8 steps away on the deck."

  • The Perfect Puget Sound Beach House Getaway

"As usual, we found this venue to be the perfect Puget Sound getaway. We've stayed at the house three times and never had a single complaint. The location is spectacular. The house is the perfect beach house. It's comfortable but rugged so adults and kids alike can relax and not worry too much about sand on their feet. There are plenty of beds for big families like ours. Gig Harbor shops and restaurants are just minutes away. The owners are next door for emergencies but leave everyone in peace. An addition this time was good Wifi -- a mixed blessing. I used to have to go to the Rosedale Market to check email. Most people will like this upgrade but I was ambivalent. It's nice to be unplugged on vacation. But this isn't a criticism. As I said: this venue is the perfect Puget Sound beach getaway!"

  • Fantastic Place, just a few things to know ahead of time...

"We loved our stay here. I especially appreciated the kind and efficient communication with the owner! We liked the location a lot because it isn't too far from Seattle and it is right on the beach. It is also close to Lake Cushman activities and Hoodsport (grocery story and ICE CREAM parlors). The cabin is definitely rustic, but clean with all the modern things you need like a bathroom, shower with good water pressure, running water, tv with dvd only... :) My absolute favorite thing about this property was the deck with a big round picnic table on it. The view was great and it was so nice to sit out there in the morning and read with my coffee and later in the day we played cards and could even eat around the table, which fits 6 adults nicely (we had 5 adults + 2 little kids around it). What I think is important to know is that since you need to stay off the neighbor's property, the beach access you do have is steep, so was difficult to impossible for our older family members to navigate. Another thing to note is that none of the bedrooms have doors on them. We made it work and everything else was so great that this wasn't a major problem, but we were surprised at first and I think it is good to know what to expect. You can still change clothes in the bathroom or in privacy if no one walks in the room. Lastly, there aren't curtains on the bedroom windows, except for one in the master, but it is sheer. As an adult, this wouldn't be a problem for going to sleep (it gets dark around 9pm during the summer), but it made for a bit of a challenge to get our little ones to sleep (no door + lots of light). Don't get me wrong, this place is so great, which is why I give it 5 stars, and we will be back, but I think it's good to know ahead of time about some of the quirks so that you are totally pleased with your stay! Thank you Cynthia for a great time!"
