  • A great vintage getaway

"Everything about this stay was easy. From it's location, communication with the owners to usage of the guesthouse. My husband and I travel a decent amount and it was the best sleep he's had just about anywhere we've been. It has a quaint vintage look without the stuffy antique smell. It has all the amenities you could want and plenty of space for being a studio. It is completely private even with the shower, hot tub and sauna outside the main door. I'd say the only small negative thing was there were several cobwebs in the rafters and doorways that we cleaned up. Thanks for a great stay! If we return to the Seattle area, we would stay here again!"

  • Amazing Stay!

"This was truly an amazingly, peaceful christmas vacation...my son enjoyed walking along the beach, and I personally felt at peace, I found what I was looking for in terms of re-connection. The environment itself was conducive for an escape, I enjoyed the fireplace in the evening, and was in awe of the landscape, I thank Kathy for being such a gracious helper to my family. You have a gem on your hands! Thank you again for everything."

  • Review of my stay at Kassy Bargfrede’s vacation home

"The vacation home is a nice standalone two-story building. The building is very clean which is helped out by Kassy's "shoes off at the door" policy. We had a minor problem with this because the entrance is located at the bottom of the stairway connecting the upper and lower levels so you end up walking through the entranceway area with your shoes off. Having our own private off-street parking spot was great. The bed is very comfortable but is relatively high and might be difficult for very elderly folks to negotiate. There is a nice sofa upstairs that converts into a bed so the building is comfortable for 3 people. We actually had 4 people there for the first 2 days and Kassy kindly lent us with a nice queen-size air mattress. The unit is situated in a nice quiet neighborhood and really beats a hotel because it is a standalone building with no shared walls and nobody riverdancing overhead all night. Kassy also gave us delicious complimentary Seattle chocolates and coffee. We slept very well and enjoyed our stay in comfort. If I ever return to the Seattle area, I would be very pleased to stay at this nice rental unit again and strongly recommend it."

  • Great Stay in Kirkland

"I visit Kirkland several times a year and have stayed in about a half dozen properties in the area. Hotels in the immediate Kirkland area are limited and very pricey. This property is the best in the area. The apartment has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is well laid out and very functional, there is plenty of storage space in the closets, the bed is very comfortable, and the washer and dryer are on site. Although you are near a major construction site, the neighborhood is very quiet and there is no construction on the weekend. You are offset enough from busy NE 85th Street to not hear the traffic noise. You are within walking distance of a QFC (grocery chain), Starbucks, several other coffee shops and bakeries. If you are into exercise, you have ready access to the trails which run along Lake Washington. There are several good restaurants in Kirkland itself, including Sushi Joa, Ristorante Paradisio, Bottle and Bull, The Grape Choice (wine shop offering happy hour), etc. If you want to load up at Costco, it is just on the other side of Route 405. When the weather is nice in Washington, it is very nice. However, when it is damp and rainy, sitting back in the apartment with the fire place going and a glass of wine is just the ticket to a relaxing evening. As I wrote earlier, I have stayed in several properties in the area and plan to make this my rental of choice on future visits."
