  • Perfect family getaway

"We stayed at this place in early October which means rainy season, but with the house's many large windows (including skylights in the upstairs bedroom), we were able to watch the storms over the water from a very peaceful, relaxing, and warm house. The rain on the skylights upstairs made for an incredibly soothing night's sleep as well, but also offered a great natural way to wake up as the sun came over the trees in the morning. The gas fireplace was perfect for curling up to next to a book, and our dogs loved the fact they could go out in the front yard and run around for a bit. In the morning we were able to go to not one, but two different beaches at low tide (look at the map - you're half a block away in two directions from two different sides of the island) and pick sand dollars, look for crabs, and enjoy the sunrises. From this place, you're about a 10 minute drive from the infamous Vashon Island lighthouse on one side, and a 10 minute drive from the town of Vashon on the other, depending if you like to hike around or shop. We had six people in the house and it still felt plenty big. We cooked up a storm and the kitchen was very well stocked with all of the utensils, pots, pans, beer and wine openers you could ever need, and the grill worked great. Highly recommend, would definitely stay again!"

  • Amazing house and views

"The location was perfect. We were there for a family reunion and it was close enough to everything we wanted to visit - Bellevue, Downtown and West Seattle. The house itself was gorgeous. Immaculate views of the lake and enough activities for the entire family to enjoy. We went kayaking, swimming, fishing (need a permit to do this) and boating (we rented a boat at a place 5 miles away). We would definitely stay here again."

  • Exquisite place!

"I have stayed at many VRBO-type places over the years but this particular rental is the best. My husband and I were here for a 5 day visit with our daughter and her husband. Julia's place was only minutes away from our daughter and that plus her great reviews and rates were the first reasons I chose her place. When we got here I found a thousand and one other things to love. Here are some of those - Morning sunrises with the great coffee Julia provides, her quiet and cute dog-Bhodi, her calming and gorgeous garden(s), the general quietness of the entire neighborhood, lots of on-street parking, a clean and well-maintained apartment, the comfy couch, the handy washer and dryer in the unit. Did I mention the location?-Close to buses, a near-by Safeway and lots of great eating and bars, a short walk/bus ride to the aboretum and shops. We loved our stay here! Thank you, Julia."

  • Nice Two Bedroom

"My wife and I stayed one week in this nicely appointed and spacious two bedroom ground level basement apartment. The owners are very nice and responded quickly to any question or need no matter how trivial. Fortunately the only issue we ever had was a weak internet signal. The main bedroom has a Queen size bed and is very comfortable and we are fussy about that. The second bedroom which we did not need has two twin beds and two entries, one from the main bedroom, making it an ideal room for a babies crib. (I have grandchildren so I know this one). We left early each day and returned late in the evening so we did not have visitors or use the kitchen more than for a quick breakfast and coffee, however the kitchen is well equipped and the living room area will accommodate several visitors nicely if needed. Nice location with a 5 minute drive to downtown Kirkland or 15 minutes to Woodinville wine country to the North. We rented a car for our stay and visited family in Woodinville, Seattle, Kirkland and as far as Yelm. If you are unfamiliar with the area, plan your driving for after the commute hour. All in all this place was just perfect for our needs."
