  • Amazing!!

"I would recommend this to anyone, and we are hoping it is available next summer, we want to rent it again. My sisters and wanted to find a house that was big enough to hold all of us, but the main propriety was its location to the ocean. This home is right on the ocean, with a lot of sea life right in front of you. Probable the best thing we saw was an eagle carrying a heron right in front of us, he picked it up and then dropped it. Nature at it's best. We were celebrating our moms 80th birthday, and were planning a surprise party. We all love the ocean and we love to beach comb, and we found that perfect house. We found many treasures, and had a lot of fun. The house was very comfortable, and we had no problem with 8 of us. It would have been even better if it hadn't rained, then we could have slept under the stars in the wind screened room. Rain or shine, we had a good time. Cheryl the owner was SO amazing. She sent me emails in advance with many ideas of things to do in the area. She also called to tell me we could use the phone, because cell service can be spotty, who does that, and to see if we were having fun. Who does that!!,Well someone who cares about their renters does. So with that said. Thank you Cheryl for everything!! It's the simple things that make things work!!"

  • Seaview Cottage was the perfect weekend getaway for my husband and I and another couple!

"Watching the sunsets from the deck, fixing our meals in the bright and well-appointed kitchen, enjoying the cozy living room, and snoozing in the comfy beds ( my husband and I so appreciate the option to have our room's twin beds made ahead into a king size bed) made us not want to leave. But the warm sunny weather did beckon us and we took walks around the neighborhood and down to Libbey Park on the water, plus it was easy to venture farther in our car - Penn Cove, Coupeville, Greenbank Farms. We especially loved the view of the Straight and Olympics, the beachy vintage decorating theme, and the quiet neighborhood that made it so easy to relax and enjoy our time together. Thanks Sandi and Dan for creating an appealing vacation home - we definitely want to stay again!"

  • The Beach House

"We highly recommend this property. We were in the area for a half marathon and everything was as advertised. It was a beautiful setting and we ended up with some great weather. We will definitely rent this property again if/when we return."

  • Soul Soother

"We arrived on a typical cool, windy, rainy Pacific NW evening, and Oak Bay stood warm and welcoming. Loved how the motion sensing lights lit up our arrival, and made negotiating the lock box and entry to the home so easy. Once inside, it was an easy flip of a switch and turn of the thermostat, and we had a cozy fire ready to help us relax with evening cocktails. We knew from the listing that there were water views, but as it was dark we couldn't really tell what we were going to see. The next morning was amazing - tendrils of fog and mist, seagulls, Indian Island in the distance and the beautiful bay. We could just feel the stress melt away. It just got better during our entire stay. The house is warm and comforting, much less sterile than some VRBO properties, and fully equipped in the kitchen and with plenty of books, games, and brochures for local attractions. We mostly hung out around the house, but ventured out for a delicious lunch at the Port Ludlow Resort, took a "windshield tour" of Ft. Worden and Ft. Townsend, and explored Indian Island. If you go, be sure to read the little book "Hadlock Hill" telling the stories about the town came into being through pretty much the efforts of one family during the early part of the 20th century. David emailed the evening of our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory, and once again during our stay. We appreciated the attentiveness, and the fact that he chose to email rather than call to avoid being intrusive. We're hoping to return!"
