  • No surprises. Website accurately depicts the rental.

"Overall: beautiful setting, comfortable home, well supplied & all amenities functioning and in good order. Specifics: 1) Deck overlooks Bay with much to view - boats, birds & seals, tidal changes and sunsets. 2) Well stocked kitchen for preparing family meals. Propane grill on deck. 3) Our 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed daily visits to pygmy goats, sheep & geese in the neighboring fields. 4) Fresh produce available daily at farm stand across the road - pay by the honor system. 5) Took daily walks & hikes at multiple parks & beaches on Vashon Island. Great views without crowds. 6) Enjoyed free concert in city park. 7) Easy access to Bay for kayaking in protected waters. 8) Easy ferry access. 9) Hot tub delightful, especially in cool weather. 10) Thriftway supermarket in Vashon town is well stocked, with a very good deli."

  • Magical spot!

"We absolutely loved our stay. The house is lovely with views of the water from each level and a rocky step path down to the beach. There was plenty of room for two families with two separate kitchens. We all loved watching the boats come in and out and stargazing at night. The park with playground in walking distance was great too and the kids got to meet some of the boat owners since the docks are right there. The house had everything we could possibly need. It has rustic charm but it beautifully maintained and has every modern amenity. We would definitely stay here again and are already trying to decide when we can. Thank you Judy! We loved it!"

  • Great location and amenities.

"The location of this property is beautiful right on the water and Easy to get to from West Seattle. For us with a boat, having the dock and mooring buoy was fabulous. They also provided water toys and everything you needed for cooking. The only improvement would be the checkout time at 10 AM is quite early and there were no fans or air conditioning for the hot weather. Overall this is a great vacation property and we would highly recommend it."

  • A large well-appointed home exudes peace and comfort, surrounded by gardens and view of the bay.

"The peace of this home enveloped us from the first moment we walked in and continued to bless our Labor Day/wedding weekend. Janett, the local manager, was most gracious in responding to our needs and questions. We all appreciated the little details: the small lap blankets, the abundance of lavender, table linens, basic pantry items, comfortable beds, cozy towels. The kitchen was wonderful for the cooking we needed to do. Three full ovens, two sinks, dishwasher and 2 refrigerators (One in the basement). There was plenty of room for a large gathering of family and friends for meals. All of the outdoor spaces were so welcoming: having tea at the tables on the terrace near the lavender, soaking up the sun sitting in the Adirondack chairs and reveling in the roses on the patio by the dining room. People gathered on the long porch chatting, bird watching, eating. There were apple and pear trees and berries. The bride and groom had lovely “first look” pictures in the yard below the porch. We saw sunrise every morning across the bay (those of us who were awake!). General information about the area: Burton’s general store, just a walk down the hill, was helpful for last minute needs (wrapping paper, birthday cards…). The coffee stand had multiple brews and sweets, even gluten free cookies. The bus from Burton provided transport to the commuter water taxi for venturesome souls to visit downtown Seattle. Up the road toward Vashon Center: Minglements is a mix of locally made crafts and organic foods including gluten free staples. The Open Space for the Arts was a wonderful outdoor wedding venue with meadow and pines framing the site we used. Staff were most accomodating in setting up both outdoor and indoor options as well as an expansive reception area. On a clear day Mt Rainier can be seen from there. **We did not have small children in our group, but it was clear that they would be welcome. There was a bedroom with books and DVD's that would interest the very young up to pre-teens. **"
