  • enjoyable, even in the rain

"Wolf Glen is a family favorite of ours. This year the apple trees provided us with the fixings for a big saucepan of applesauce, the hot tub was a welcome diversion and relaxation with the sound of rain on its covered roof, and the beach was our own private space to watch the sun set. Oh, and the hammock rocked me to sleep one afternoon. Lovely and peaceful. I'd like to come EVERY year!"

  • Delightful, cozy retreat

"What a joy to enter into the world created by Tom and Bruce in their cabin by the sound. Perfectly appointed, pleasing to the eye, complete with readable books, hummingbird feeder, comfortable outdoor seating, and netflix should it come to that! Water views are everywhere, and the choice of outdoor spots from which to observe the sea creatures, birds and the ferry abound. We did not want to leave and can't wait for the next visit when we hope to stay longer."

  • Wonderful place, as usual.

"This is year #5 for our group of five. We meet here once a year for several days, most recently for a writing workshop. We love the ambiance, the fabulous kitchen, comfortable rooms, and the view. We'll be reserving again right away for next year."

  • Great Place for children, adults, and elderly. Lots of parking and beautiful views. Some issues...

"I agree with reviewer Ryan S. on almost all points. Also note that Vashon Island is only accessible via the WSF Ferries and will cost about $30-40 round trip (car and people) to get on and off the ferry. We were there for the SU Graduation and had to wake up at un ungodly hour to make the 8 am pinning ceremony. THE BAD: The Pool: When we got to the property the pool was left uncovered for who knows how long (something maybe the cleaners should put on the checklist) and the pool was filled with dead leaves and was cloudy. The reason we rented this particular home was because we wanted a pool for the children. We still swam in the pool but with reservations. Unfortunately, a pool person was not on the island and would not be available until after we were gone. The Plumbing: On the second to the last day, the plumbing backed up in the master bath. It was okay for us because more than half our family had left by that time and the rest could make do with 2 full baths. The sink in the common bath drained really slowly as well. The Freezer: The freezer overfroze and also leaked from the lower right side. The Housebook: The book is outdated and has instructions for the boat and kayaks. After speaking with the property managers, it was explained that those were off limits due to liability and safety. I fully understand however, the book should be updated. Misc: Bring your own basketball and extra fishing gear. Only 1 pole worked. The owner was great about making things right. Let them know if you have issues right away. THE GREAT: I came home and researched Seattle properties that may have been better for our needs, & could not find one that beat this house. We were a big group with children, adults, and elderly. This house was perfect for us with tons of parking. The multilevel homes on HomeAway could not compare to the single level home that kept us all together for great family time. There is 1 television and that may be an issue for some but not for us. We watched the NBA playoffs (go GSW!) and spent a majority of our time not staring at a screen but actually talking and laughing and looking out at the beautiful water. I know that if we stayed in a multilevel, than we would have been separated. The house was easy on the elders as they did not have stairs to climb and moved freely from bedroom to dining room. The grounds are private and have swings and a great yard for Nerf Wars (watch out for mole poop!) Most of all we felt safe and happy!"
