  • Vashon Getaway

"My wife and two daughters had a wonderful long 4 day weekend. The spiral staircase was fun but took some getting used to. Well appointed with lots of pots and pans, spotlessly clean. Even the couch had been vacuumed. Great having the canoe's to use - no whales but a couple of curious seals. Downstairs a little musty smelling at first but aired out just fine, and all the outside lights were burned out. A nice treat to have the WiFi but didn't use it much. Nice collection of games and puzzles. Only wear and tear were the stairs to the beach. A few were in need of repair and for some maybe a waiting law suit :). Lots to still see on the island and hope to return for longer (and to go to Granny's Attic again)"

  • Cozy Cottage on the water

"This is our fifth stay on Vashon and our second stay at Clam Cove. Clam Cove is definitely our favorite with its three tiers of lovely outdoor space for relaxing or entertaining. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the upper deck, have dinner on the middeck and a glass of wine by the fire on the lower patio at the water's edge, all with beautiful views of the sound and local wildlife. During our stay we saw humming birds, deer, a pair of eagles, seals, otters and one evening we were entertained by a whale! Both the indoor dining area and living room have expansive views of the water where you can enjoy watching the ferry come and go even on rainy days. The living room is stocked with a generous compliment of books, music and some games for quiet relaxation. The cottage is located on the quiet side of the island but just steps from the Tacoma ferry. You are about a 10 minute drive from Burton Hamlet and Quartermaster Harbor where you can rent kayaks for an afternoon, 15 minutes from the famous Minglement coffee roaster and grocery and 20 minutes from downtown Vashon which boasts some wonderful little restaurants. You can also explore Maury Island and visit the lighthouse at Robinson Point, also no more than 20 minutes away. Seattle ferries are on the north end of the island for anyone wanting a day in the beautiful city of Seattle. We very much enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying again next year."

  • Perfect destination!

"This was the perfect place for our family! Beautiful location, stunning view and very inviting. From the moment we drove down the driveway and saw the sheep, ducks and rabbits, to the first glimpse of the house, I knew we made a good choice! It was we'll stalked and clean. We had plenty of room for the seven of us. I did give an excellent rating, but would have marked it at four and a half if I could. Only because the bathtub/shower in the downstairs bathroom was a bit small for our tall family members. They just used the extra large shower upstairs. The owners are planning to remodel that bathroom, so shouldn't be a problem in the future. Would definitely stay again if visiting Vashon island."

  • Perfect family getaway

"We stayed at this place in early October which means rainy season, but with the house's many large windows (including skylights in the upstairs bedroom), we were able to watch the storms over the water from a very peaceful, relaxing, and warm house. The rain on the skylights upstairs made for an incredibly soothing night's sleep as well, but also offered a great natural way to wake up as the sun came over the trees in the morning. The gas fireplace was perfect for curling up to next to a book, and our dogs loved the fact they could go out in the front yard and run around for a bit. In the morning we were able to go to not one, but two different beaches at low tide (look at the map - you're half a block away in two directions from two different sides of the island) and pick sand dollars, look for crabs, and enjoy the sunrises. From this place, you're about a 10 minute drive from the infamous Vashon Island lighthouse on one side, and a 10 minute drive from the town of Vashon on the other, depending if you like to hike around or shop. We had six people in the house and it still felt plenty big. We cooked up a storm and the kitchen was very well stocked with all of the utensils, pots, pans, beer and wine openers you could ever need, and the grill worked great. Highly recommend, would definitely stay again!"
