  • Great

"This is a very attractive cottage on a lot overlooking the bay. a more peaceful and relaxing place could not exist. We were able to sit outside in the quiet, enjoy watching eagles, and take in the flowers. The delightful host let us pick strawberries, greens, spices, and radishes from her garden and then helped our girls fix smores. Then she topped off our most enjoyable time by taking us to coffee in Langley. Nothing could have been better than our experience there!"

  • Excellent Home in a Beautiful Setting for Large Group

"Our large group loved the house itself as well as the beautiful location! We travelled with a group of 15 adult family members/close friends all in our 20s/30s, including 5 couples. The house provided plenty of sleeping space for us, though I would note that we are all quite close and comfortable sharing rooms. The bedrooms are set up perfectly for multiple families traveling with small children as well. In general, the house is spacious and allows a large group space to spread out. We never felt like we were crowded or tripping over one another. The kitchen was well-appointed for cooking and overlooks the water and decks. The backyard is amazing! It's beautifully landscaped with an open grassy area and large fire pit. The trek down to the water is steep, which is to be expected given the terrain, but the stairs are sturdy and there are multiple landings to rest if needed. The beach at low tide is worth exploring. We went off-island multiple times because we traveled from across the country and wanted to explore Seattle and Victoria, but the house would be perfect for a low-key family vacation as well. We typically travel with our young children, and it would have worked great as the setting for days spent lounging, playing, and reading. The setting is peaceful and gorgeous. Notes on the general area: A car is a must! There is plenty to do on the island recreation-wise, but you'll need to drive. Travel via the ferry back to the mainland is easy as well. I was most impressed with the quality of the restaurants on the island, especially in Coupeville. Hiking at Deception Pass was beautiful. Wineries are a must."

  • Beautiful Stay at Cute Cottage

"We stayed at the Freeland cottage for a few days before our wedding, and afterwards. It was literally perfect. Super cute, immaculately clean and right outside of town which was perfect as we did a lot of trips running to and from. The bed was comfy and the setting was calm and beautiful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. Hope we get to stay there again someday!"

  • Beautiful!

"The cottage was beautiful and exceptionally clean with everything we needed. Our 3 young children loved the loft space where they played and slept. We enjoyed the beach and found it easy to carry the children's kayaks down the stairs for a fun afternoon paddling. The location was fabulous for exploring the island. It is quiet and private yet close to so much. This was the family's best vacation yet. Thanks Shelly for being so responsive, making the trip easy to plan and for sharing your cottage!"
