  • Quiet Christmas Retreat

"My wife and I were interested in a different Christmas celebration since our kids are now grown/married and not able to be with us this year in Seattle. We rented Bells Beach Cottage thinking its location, Saratoga Passage views, interior appointments, and amenities would give us a relaxing, simple, enjoyable Christmas Weekend. It lived up to all of our hopes. The wood stove and plentiful wood supply warmed us, and the last few Christmas gifts we collected in LaConnor, fresh seafood in Anacortes, and smoked seafood in Oak Harbor made our Christmas Eve. journey to Bells Beach a memorable day and evening. Christmas Day was equally enjoyable with a nice breakfast, walks in the neighborhood, a more time the write a few delayed Christmas cards. All-in-all, the cottage set the stage for a wonderful weekend for us. We enjoyed our stay."

  • Great location, wish there was a second queen size bed

"Overall, we had a great stay. This house is in a prime location in Langley, which was the highest priority for us. There are basic kitchen items (like pans, kitchen utensils, even salt and pepper) and we were able to make breakfast, but plan to go shopping and/or bring your own sugar, coffee, and milk though since the items in the kitchen were pretty haphazard. We were two couples for a weekend. My husband and I stayed on the (small) futon in the second bedroom and were ok, but a little uncomfortable. I'd recommend they get two twin beds in the downstairs bedroom that are able to be pushed together for a bigger bed to allow for two couples to stay more comfortably, but those are just my thoughts! :)"

  • Soul Soother

"We arrived on a typical cool, windy, rainy Pacific NW evening, and Oak Bay stood warm and welcoming. Loved how the motion sensing lights lit up our arrival, and made negotiating the lock box and entry to the home so easy. Once inside, it was an easy flip of a switch and turn of the thermostat, and we had a cozy fire ready to help us relax with evening cocktails. We knew from the listing that there were water views, but as it was dark we couldn't really tell what we were going to see. The next morning was amazing - tendrils of fog and mist, seagulls, Indian Island in the distance and the beautiful bay. We could just feel the stress melt away. It just got better during our entire stay. The house is warm and comforting, much less sterile than some VRBO properties, and fully equipped in the kitchen and with plenty of books, games, and brochures for local attractions. We mostly hung out around the house, but ventured out for a delicious lunch at the Port Ludlow Resort, took a "windshield tour" of Ft. Worden and Ft. Townsend, and explored Indian Island. If you go, be sure to read the little book "Hadlock Hill" telling the stories about the town came into being through pretty much the efforts of one family during the early part of the 20th century. David emailed the evening of our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory, and once again during our stay. We appreciated the attentiveness, and the fact that he chose to email rather than call to avoid being intrusive. We're hoping to return!"
